I live in one of the cleanest cities in Mexico, but when I travel to Mexico City my head hurts, inside my nose gets black from all the Smog that the city produces, you can't see the blue sky, the clouds or the sun. I cannot imagine what the people from these communities have to suffer every day in order to be healthy. Great documentary.

Wilmington is my home. For YEARS, I thought the sulfur smell and smoke in the skies were normal.

What happened when the pandemic started and everything in California was shut down? The air quality got better and it was the best it’s ever been in the history of California. During that time not one single Refinery in Southern California shut down. So think about that for a minute. You guys want to rally, complain and protest and at the end of the day you jump in your gasoline driven cars, go to Starbucks and get your coffee in plastic cups.

These crude oil production and processing facilities aren't safe for the environment no matter how far away you live. They are TOXIC and those toxins spread around the planet. Certainly MUCH MORE toxic when you live that close. These young people and the actions they are taking inspire me, give me hope for the future.

I've lived in the south bay area my while life. Carson. San Pedro. Long Beach. Lomita. Harbor City. Did this work or did it just continue business as usual. Cause my brother uses to frequently get nose bleeds and I had asthma as a kid so this directly affected me personally.

I applaud the highlighting but the jobs and wealth the oil has brought is partly why the people move there. No one should live like that. Be objective and come forward with an answer not just negatives. Take the oil away what will you have left? That's the answer you need.

Oil doing favors people moving doing world favors (hopefully compensated along the video that shares outlook and unexplainable experience). Who is "WE" The EJ organizations in Texas are already making an impact. In fact, Dallas already passed a 1500 FT. Buffer Zone between residential communities and Oil Drills, they are ahead of Los Angeles. So, you may be a little behind on what's happening in Texas and by the way , I live in California , not Texas and I know this.

Or.. you can move out of Wilmington to somewhere else. There’s far more dangerous things in Wilmington than the refinery. Stop wasting your time on small stuff and tackle the bigger picture. The refinery isn’t the only place polluting the air. You guys do know the Port is right next door. There’s more pollution from the port than the refinery but nobody wants to talk about that. You guys don’t want a refinery but you still want to drive cars and go on airplanes. Refineries also produce more than gas. Do some research and educate yourself. Some of the stuff you use everyday comes from a barrel of oil. Keep wasting your time on this cause. How bout you move out of Wilmington and go after some of the more serious issues in this world.
