District 97 are not a cover band. They have at least 2 studio albums released. This was part of a tour with Wetton as support / guest when he wasn't busy on the prog rock tour ship with the other bass legend Chris Squire.

District 97 is an amazing band out of Chicago. They have two albums "Hybrid Child" and "Trouble with Machines". They are a very unique progressive rock outfit made up of outstanding musicians. Now that surprised me. Not only was HE good but HE actually seemed into it! Well done John but keep away from Squire(on ship), you don't want his attitude to fuck you over. Also good band and nice harmony from gloves Lady.

I don't think so at all it appears that John was thoroughly himself. Watch their show from NJ posted by NJ Proghouse he appears that he is really enjoying himself. I think between the US and Europe they did 14 shows together. They were supposed to be his back up band on the 2017 Yes Cruise. But by then he was to sick to make it.

John was def tired of touring. He clearly expressed that when I was in his company while working backstage for an event. I'm guessing he needed some income though. Hard to believe but look at Allan Holdsworth and Keith Emerson. None of them invested or saved?
