Kate Yup is bulimic, speaking from personal experience. BN explains everything from her bruises, to her ability to eat the amounts she does, and her teeth falling out. Common signs of long-term regular binging & purging. She even had a toothbrush taped to her arm in at least one video, which is used to induce vomiting. I think she played along with the “being kidnapped” thing to grow her channel, and she stopped making videos presumably because she’s in recovery.

You forgot to mention that Kate yup literally broke her teeth in her video, she acknowledged it but continue eating. And then another of her teeth broke, yet she continue eating. It was disturbing how non chalant she is.
@peytonkirk1062 жыл бұрын
You know if her teeth break a lot it could add to the possibility of her having an eating disorder. The acid from throwing up breaks down the teeth and bulimics (just saying bulimia generally, as there are lots of eating disorders out there but what with the amount Kate would eat it’s possibly she may have been in the practice of purging, maybe after recording) often have really brittle teeth as a result of the constant throwing up.

That kind of thing is why it pisses me off to see people claim she's a perfectly healthy person who's just some evil attention seeker. i was kinda shocked you didnt already know about poppy before this! for anyone else who didn't and wants a rundown: Poppy was really never super creepy, the more you look into it the more its obvious its just an art project, shes just part of an edgy metal-esque music scene. but there is a sad truth behind it, way more complex than a youtube comment explanation can do justice but basically, she worked with her significant other on the original iconic poppy videos (blonde hair creepy voice, 'sunglasses' era), his name was titanic sinclair, and after a while it came to light that he had basically just redone with poppy what he tried to do with a previous partner called mars argo (singer who had a very similar premise to poppy) and not only this but he was incredibly abusive and manipulative to both girls when with them (and after really, stalking, some people think certain parts of poppy videos straight up reference and mock/taunt mars argo). its hard for me to see poppy as part of the creepy side of youtube after this, her music and art style was never super outlandish to me anyway shes always just been expressing herself. fortunately shes since ditched titanic and has been working to reclaim her career and move past things and for mars argo it seems like her career never recovered from titanic but i think she won a lawsuit against him and poppy? so hopefully that was a win for her, and maybe shes enjoying not being in the limelight now, we can hope. poppy still makes music if anyone is interested though!

I have the exact same issue. I find these topics so interesting, but they do make me extremely anxious (having an anxiety disorder doesn't help me either). Usually the reason they make me anxious is because I get too immersed into the film, which makes it feel so real. So to break that immersion, I break the fourth wall for myself. Start thinking of the film as an art piece, wonder about the message of the film, critique the actors, admire the lighting and props, think about how much money it took to make it.. etc My personal favourite for when a scene is overwhelming is to think, "The only thing that actor cares about is the left over spaghetti he's going to have for dinner tonight."

The Canal 5 is actually pretty on point for that channel. I lived in Mexico for several years and that channel would often have film shorts that were disturbing and just overall weird. This was way back in the late 90s early 00s. The videos were avant-garde type of art. Makes sense now that social media is prevalent that they would use it to show these films. Mexico has a history with avant-garde art.

The hanging munchkin was debunked a while ago, it's just a bird brought in from the Los Angeles Zoo and the channel that uploaded it painstakingly edited the "hanging munchkin" in. Even if you rewatch VHS copies, the munchkin is nowhere in sight

For the hanging munchkin, it was actually proven that the og tapes had the bird. The munchkin was actually edited in by someone else for a video, and if you pay close enough attention, you can see the bird's wing clip through a bit. So no, no one actually hung themselves on the set (although it's not exactly out of character considering the awful production of the movie)

32:23 thatpoppy (or poppy) used to be a long-running ARG, but from what i remember the guy running it was genuinely abusing/mistreating poppy (or the actress shown on-camera playing as poppy) and when word finally got out that she was being hurt the whole game was stopped in order to get the previously mentioned abuser fired and/or arrested the reason you can't find anything creepy or arg-related anymore is because the game is over and the related videos are both now irrelevant and possibly painful for poppy to look back on, meaning they're mostly deleted as she's now started her own business (i think?) and is sort of doing her own art projects and music now
@yeowch10732 жыл бұрын
I don’t expect the people who overview these icebergs to spend hours analysing every single entry, but I believe you were too quick to write off many of the entries as “just an art project” or “nonsensical” or “not very creepy” when the actual horror comes from what the project represents. It comes off like you don’t actually care to engage with the material if it requires any level of engagement past literalism, which I find unfair to the material.

Poppy’s videos have had a drastic change from when the iceberg was made. She used to upload creepier videos due to her channel being an art project of her ex boyfriend and manager, Titanic Sinclair (who also used to work with Mars Argo for the same reasons) the whole story was that poppy was meant to be a robot/AI/computer/the internet itself. Poppy has since stopped making that content after breaking up with Titanic Sinclair and no longer working with him as her manager due to him being physically and emotionally abusive towards her. She also has had a change in music style since this, moving from pop, to rock, to metal, and continuing to experiment with her music now that she has the freedom to do so.

24:41 _The Goddess Bunny_ was actually a transgender woman who was a dancer, actress, model, and drag performer named Sadie Crisp. She has that appearance due to, as you said, polio, however Sadie unfortunately passed away back in 2021, at the age of 61. She’s a very unsung LGBTQ icon, and it saddens me that her most known legacy comes from some viral video that creeped people out. Weird Trivia: Sadie had a brief cameo in the music video for “The Dope Show” by Marilyn Manson in 1999.

And the fact that he tries to argue that art HE thinks is stupid shouldn’t be allowed but people using profane language is completely ok. Imo I think both should be fine, but if you told me I had to pick one thing to be strict on, I think I’d pick the one that results in a pewdiepie bridge incident.

a few years back my family (on maybe Christmas eve) was gathered in the living room watching KZbin on the tv. we were watching old commercials from 80s/90s and my dad saw something to do with max headroom. He closed out of the vid and looked up the video of doctor who broadcast interruption and he was talking about how it scared him while watching when it was live.

I think to appreciate lasagna cat you need a lot of background knowledge. Background knowledge on Garfield, Jim Davis, and the weird ass(as in fascinating) internet culture around garfield. there's a big fat(good) video essay about it already called what the internet did to garfield, and WHOOF, i don't wanna spoil it. it's well made. i reccomend. indulge in the garf. consider the garf.

30:00 So you acknowledge ScareTheater throughout this entire video, but fail to realize that he debunked hanging munchkin a while ago. That clip of the "hanging munchkin" was an edited version by the uploader, you can see the very slight shadow of a wing where he failed to edit. Also, it would've been seen by the cast and crew because it is very prominent in the background.
