Quest For Glory is perhaps the most unique point-and-click franchise Sierra On-Line created, mixing their usual point-and-click gameplay with RPG elements and allowing the player to import their character through all five games. In Quest For Glory you play as a nameless hero (though officially his name is Devon) who sets off to various realms to help out, all the while uncovering a demonic conspiracy and discovering more about the mysterious sage Erana. You can play as a Fighter, Magic User, Thief, or (starting with the second game) a Paladin who all have their own unique skills and ways of solving puzzles.
Each game in the series is based off of a different world mythology, resulting in some incredibly interesting worlds and each game having a very different feel. The penultimate game, and arguably the best one, is based off of Slavic mythology. As a result of being based off of a famously grim and morbid mythology, Quest For Glory 4 is the darkest game in the series and overall has a Castlevania-esque gothic nature to it. It is your goal in this game to bring peace the kingdom of Mordavia, not an easy task given the undead that are rampant, the townsfolk giving in to fear and paranoia, a diabolical cult lurking about, and of course a vampire is pulling the strings. Mordavia is truly a dangerous place, which only gets worse at night. Night is always dangerous in Quest For Glory given more powerful monsters come out, buy Quest For Glory 4 really leans into night being a horrible hour with by far the most chilling night theme in the series.
