Molino is SUPERB, and frankly? I'd rather eat a few times at a really great but expensive restaurant at WDW than daily at mediocre but cheap ones. But that's just me. RE. dressing up for M. Paul? A fun story: MANY years ago I was at EPCOT solo, and dining at Chefs de France. I was chatting with the couple sitting next to me (I'm from California, they NY, and in those days not as many wines made the trip East so they were picking my brains re. things to look for--I was a food/wine writer in those days) ANYHOW, the man looked VERY familiar to me and finally we introduced ourselves and I realized why I recognized him. He was John Molloy, the author of "Dress for Success"--the VERY popular book of the day! Laughing, I kind of apologized for sitting in this fancy restaurant in my teeshirt and jeans. He, the ULTIMATE expert on how to dress for all occasions, looked at me and said: "Dan...anyone who dresses up to dine at Disney World is an ass!" 'nuff said. And yes, Mythos is CRAP. Period.

DL Fendel if you’re talking about Mythos at IOA you don’t want to know. I worked for that park, the rat problem there is impressive. Seriously they don’t even scurry off when you hit the lights. They just look at you like “what this is our place”

I was just over at M. Paul. They do have a dress code, but it is not unreasonable. No torn clothing, no hats, no swimwear, etc. I had my baseball cap on and just took it off and tucked the rim into my jeans near the center of my back (similar when I enter a building in full BDU's back in the day). The Black Seabass (with potato scales) I had was fantastic!

What Disney world really needs (or at least in Disney Springs) is a Barbecue joint. And I'm talking about real barbecue. The kind that takes up to 12 hrs. to cook it's meat.

The need an actual good tepenyaki grill. The one in Epcot is overpriced, not authentic by any means, and tastes absolutely horrible. Making it authentic with actual tepinyaki chefs would be a start

My family stayed at the Disney Swan on Friday night, December 8th. We ate at Il Mulino per Pete's suggestion, as he's mentioned it several times on the show. It was outstanding, and one of the best meals we've ever had. My husband had the salmon, and I had the rigatoni con fungi (pasta with mushrooms and truffle oil.) It wasn't inexpensive, but it was worth every penny. The service was excellent, and the food is not to be missed. Thanks for the recommendation, Pete!

My family and I ate at Trails End back in 2012 and loved it. We made sure to make a reservation to go back to Trails End when we came to Disney this past June. We decided to go the day we checked in instead of waiting until our reservation date. We made reservations at 4:30 and were seated by 6 o’clock. The food was awesome but when we got our check and I had a heart attack. For a family of 5 to get the buffet, drinks, and tip it was $200. That’s ridiculous to charge that kind of money for dinner. When we were there in 2012 we paid $90 to $100 bucks plus tip for 5 of us. After this we cancelled all of our dinner reservations and found other ways to eat at the parks that cost way less. If and when we ever go back we know not to dine in the sit down restaurants but to do quick service instead.

I think Jungle Skipper canteen has more to do with the type of skipper you get as your waiter. That was one of the drawing points for most people. Our skipper was fantastic, how ever my friend went recently and she felt her skipper was more reading off a script and didn't really have that Jungle Cruise feel. Sanaa is hands down the best meal we had at Disney and we will go back even if it is just for that amazing bread service.

You forgot to mention one important advantage of Sanaa. If you eat lunch there, you can see animals out the window! I think it's the only place in WDW that you can see the wildlife from the restaurant. Food's awesome, and terrific mojitos!

100% agree with Skipper Canteen, Trails End and Sanaa. Every time I go to wdw I go out of my way to get to Sanaa its so good. Trails End is an amazing value, especially breakfast. Skipper Canteen is good, however I had mediocre service when I went and found the portion sizes too small for the price. I also find the menu a bit watered down (Im from Van, BC so eclectic and authentic foods are kinda the norm for me) but the food is still very good for a theme park, best table service in Magic Kingdom every other menu is boring.

@timothydavidson87767 жыл бұрын
I believe that you became ill, but food poisoning takes longer than a few hours to take effect. Most people attribute it to the last thing they ate, but in almost all cases it was 24 hours before.
@emh32297 жыл бұрын
Timothy Davidson I'm sure it wasn't the food, but still it's hard to convince myself that! Like you said, it's common for people to attribute sickness to food poisoning, and it's therefore natural for them to want to avoid the same thing from reoccurring even if they know the food wasn't the cause!

Trails End is an amazing bargain. Last time we were there, wild deer and turkeys wandered by. Everyone found something they loved. My only complaint is there is no bathroom. Sanaa was the worst dining experience we have ever had in Disney (and we have eaten at Tony's). It included making a 70 year old woman run, waiting 45 minutes for a reservation that we made 6 months prior and getting quick service after we left.

The bus driver dropped us off at the wrong place. We were 30 minutes early, so we looked around a bit and then asked where we needed to go. We were told it was a 10 minute walk from where we were (hence the running). We arrived 2 minutes late. We were then told we would have to wait. It took 45 minutes to get seated. By this time it is almost 8pm. We had 2 children with us (for a total of 6). We ordered 2 chicken dishes, 3 steak, and 1 seafood dish. The seafood was decent, all of the steak was over cooked, and the chicken was almost not edible. The whole experience took over 2 hours and we never go drink refills. It was almost 11 pm when we got back to our resort and we had to hustle to get food before everything closed.

Great episode. Agree with all of the restaurants you mentioned about being awesome. But I do have to really disagree with Pete that Mythos is crap. Yes, it isn't as good as the restaurants on this Disney list. But we have enjoyed the atmosphere and, yes, the food at Mythos. My big complaint with them would be the painfully slow service. But the food we've had has been very good, even as good or better than many WDW restaurants in the same price point. Anyway, great show. We really love the restaurant episodes.

Trails End was hands down the most disappointing dining experience I have ever had at Disney. It was hyped so much by both you guys and by the gluten free community (I have celiac disease) and it was such a let down. The food was mediocre and the chef was unwilling to unwilling to offer me anything off the buffet. Most Disney chefs will make allergy diners something in the kitchen such as special bread or dessert that isn’t on the buffet. Also, their magic band system had been down all evening, but they didn’t bother to tell us until after we had dined and were going to pay. They advised me to go to the concierge down the road to have it run through manually, only to find out that since I wasn’t staying at Fort Wilderness, they couldn’t help me. I don’t know if I’d ever go back.
