Cheers Purple, great video this one, your confidence and enthusiasm really come out well. It’s strange with the Alpacas as I was at Whitehaven Harbour last weekend and their was a dozen or so of them being fussed over, lovely docile creatures. All the best for now.

Cheers Paul. The Alpacas are great, especially for mental health. Let's not forget the nutrient rich manure they produce too. Thanks for watching

You’re a legend Purple, what would Wellingborough and surrounding areas do without you. Your determination when you are right is fantastic, and the local people should know your on their side when it comes to legal issues. Well communicated and we love you.

Thanks Peter. You're a legend yourself. I do regret having to lie to you all about my reasons. I just couldn't have this footpath shut because of the future I could envision. Purple-envision 😃

Brilliant video as usual Purple, I reported this again on August the 1st and they cleared it on the 15th, just in time with the bridge situation, someone did comment the path should be shut!!!!!!…(from fixmystreet “..As there is an alternative route just to the North the route might just as well be abandoned? Nice one. I think next year I'll have to be on the ball a lot sooner. Yh well that comment was made obsolete when the bridge become impassible 😄 🤣 I love how the world rights itself

This is great news. We recently did part of the Nene Way through Ditchford (but didn't go past the containers storage place). We went through a field next to it. I didn't know you could go through that place. Thanks for the info.

Right, so the footpath you mention is the nene way which leads to where Irthlingborough Lakes joins with Rushden Lakes and continues on towards Stanwick, Ringstead Thrapston using the Greenway. The chettles path leads to the small humpback bridge which leads directly into Ditchford Lakes n Meadows Reserve and Rushden Lakes saving 30mins on the walk.

I love a good footpath victory, I'll go back and watch all the other videos about it to catch up. Wellingborough is lucky to have someone like you in their corner.

Great video, thanks for posting. My grandparents used to tell me how they caught the train from Wellingborough to Ditchford to go swimming in the Nene (pre Chettles!). I guess swimming will be off the agenda in the new water park, at least in the river....

Yh but there's model technology to help us to enjoy the water more these days. It's looking very promising

Fantastic efforts once again Buddy, Thankyou. Why oh why the Ditchford Bridge couldn't have been left open enough to allow for a Cycle/Footpath through I do not know, Really cannot see how that could impact anything, provided the damaged section was adequately fenced off. Full credit to you for highlighting the issue through Ditchford Mill last year, think CTS were secretly hoping no one would notice. They knew the path was there when they took the site on, what they should have done was applied for and got a Footpath Diversion order before they started, re-routed the path around the perimeter and then no-one would have had an issue, and it would have ticked their H&S boxes. 13.37 that is a Female 'Bauer' coupling, used to join pipework together from pumps, slurry tankers etc. Leftover from Chettle's days no doubt.

Yh strange that. Maybe it's to investigate structural damage. Thanks Nick yep it's the same for this year. If nobody can pass the weeds then nobody can use the path. I think I need to be relentless with it

Very interesting I had heard about ditchford being a lovely place to go to and enjoy laying on the shore and swimming many years ago, it's nice to think someone is willing to invest time and money to bring something else to enjoy to the local area

I'm happy to have been a part of that army Mr P and I'm stoked that the old smelly chettles place is going to become somewhere nice for families again after so so long. The Mr Clarke you mentioned ...it isn't the same Mr Clarke from Chelveston Lodge Farm is it?

Hi purple I was on the little dancing queen today and had great time. It’s absolutely stunning out on the river nene. Something I wanted to ask you is where exactly did you come from before passing the container yard? I normally come from the embankment and run to ditchford road but normally go back up ditchford road to Stanton cross but I have the feeling and your videos are proof of that, that I can cross ditchford road and run further? Could you please tell me the best passage after crossing the container yard over ditchford road and where it leads to. Cheers Purple. Ps soon I will send you some footage to promote our friends from the water meadow park. Because I just like you like to support these local initiatives . Take care and thank you in advance.
