I understand that people like to scarf ditto for that speed boost but I've always found ditto works better with a mirror herb. It becomes a bit more niche as a switch in as you often have to put it in after an opponent k.o.'s one of your mons or you have to have good reads and switch at an opportune time. I am in a discord server as the normal type gym leader and it always seems to shock people just how effective their own mon is against their team, haha.
