People really get hurt when it comes to Whitney. Patti version is connected to the melody. Patti sings on the tremble unlike other singer. She's a girl group singer. So naturally she's connected to the music/melody . The only problem comes is when she looses control and let's her emotion take over. That's when she doesn't think of when to place Melisma and belts and even then it's still perfect. Whitney was great, so great you dont have to put someone else down to keep her legacy alive.

I wish she had done her version of "i have nothing" like this. She did her own version of All the man i need instead of copying whtiney. When she sang " I have nothing" she sang it like Whitney but her voice is not similiar so it sounded off. This is a much better interpretation. Different yes but true artist don't sound similair
