Thanks for the great review and taking the time to edit and post! Any thoughts on the Suunto Eon Core?

I do. As a recreational computer, it isn't bad, but there are a few plusses and minus to it. First, I love the bright screen. One of my concerns is the conservative factor to its dives (BUT this can be a good thing as well, depending on who is using it. I'm not too fond of the feature that locks the computer entirely for 48 hours if you violate one of its rules. If you only plan on doing simple, recreational dives, and are willing to abide by its rules, always, it is a fine computer. It is reasonably simple to work with and works well for recreational diving. I purchase one with a pod for my wife a number of years ago, but she very quickly out grew it, and we passed it on to another divers daughter that needed one. This was an ideal fit, we knew she would be forced to be a little safer and couldn't break the rules :)

Very good actually. I am still getting around 3 weeks without diving and lose a day or two per dive day (120 minutes of BT > 240 minutes of BT)

I have a question. Have you synchronized the Apeks DSX with the transmitter? I’m asking because I synchronized mine, but it doesn’t show me the air level in the cylinder at all on the display when I’m on the surface or underwater. I’m wondering why this is happening.

Absolutely. You need to make sure that the pods are assigned as well. We are out diving until Monday but if your send me your info, we'll send you the manual

cant help but noticed that even though they appear to be mounted horizontally on a bar all three computers are reading a different depth. So which one has the accurate depth.

That is a great question!!! The answer is less exciting though. ALL Dive computers like this are consumer based and have an acceptable margin of error in the pressure sensor. While most computers of the same manufacturer will be very close, there is still variance from time to time even in those. So, which one is right is hard to say, since the standard variance in manufactures is roughly 5%. LOL So, I would say the middle depth :)

FYI, the MK2I has a big numbers mode they put in a recent update, so you don't need to have small numbers on it if you keep up with the software updates.

We definitely keep up with that for sure, the challenge is this. The loss of other home screen info is concerning as well. It is certainly a VERY good recreational computer, and more than fine for simple, single tank reef dives. Once it goes over the NDL, it does a fine job as well, but the other two in this video are better equipped for that level of diving. :)

@@TeachMeToDive You can use a combination of double tap, and the lower left hand button to display any information needed in big picture mode. The only thing it doesn't do that I wish it would is display the compass along with tank pressure on the same screen. As far as only being good for single tank reef dives, I disagree with that. I use it for sidemount on shore dives almost every single day, and I know a guy who uses 2 mk2i's along with 4-5 transmitters for deco diving down to 300 ft on a rebreather. I am guessing you have a problem with watch based computers based on you being a bit older and wearing glasses. Do you use a prescription mask?

@@ChrisJuniker I don't use a perscription mask, I probably should. I am not saying that I don't love my MK2i, and I dive it A LOT! (1,100 plus dives so far), but when it comes to the more complex dives that I like, I generally move it over to second position and run the Perdix in first. I like the additional info that is displayed and its advanced features. I am beginning to add the DSX to dives as well and really like it, a lot. I am pretty fortunate that I have multiple of each and use a different sets of computers for each set up the set ups and reg sets that I dive. Although, I primarily dive in Sidemount. :)

Guess we will see. The hard time with things like this, is that we make a decision and never get the chance to live with the other choice to know IF we made the right choice. We then find ourselves only willing to defend the choice we did make, regardless of its actual superiority or our perception of it. We spend a lot, and worry about looking foolish as well:)

@@chrpai Always a good choice. I do really like the DSX though after using both, side by side on actual dives :)
