As a dry caver gus, it seems like we mutually think each other is the crazy one for the hobbies we engage in. When you dry cave, you have a helmet and knee pads, elbow pads, boots, ropes and most importantly, an infinite supply of air. With cave diving, it's a race against the clock, and so much can go so wrong so fast. I don't know how you do it, but of course much respect.

I love caving. I have done it since I was young in Boy Scouts. I have been diving since 1977, and never even considered anything beyond Cavern. These two guys have got me teetering on the edge. I REALLY want to see the crystal caves, and I am intrigued, but I still have that little voice in the back of my head that says, (usually in my daughter's voice. 😊) "Are you FRACKING INSANE!!!" So, I get it.

Okay…..listening to the “why” while watching this video of these guys perfectly executing the “why” I finally understand your passion. People always ask me “why?” About riding a motorcycle 🏍, I see (or hear) a few bikes go by and I stop what I’m doing and poke my head up instantly wishing I was along side them. Everyone has their own passion that inspires them to work hard honing skills and building experience, always striving to better their own skill sets, even as claustrophobic as I am I actually felt your excitement about doing something not everyone CAN or WOULD do!! I have a new found respect for cave diving, keep the videos coming and thank you for taking us where no claustrophobic has gone before 😊🙏🏻👍🏻

Great video guys. In the event that you encountered a problem in this cave that required you to thumb the dive, would you attempt to turn around in a tight restriction or would you push forward until both divers can safely and easily turn around? I would think that it would be dependent on the problem and where you were inside this cave but I’d like to hear your perspective.
@DIVETALK
@DIVETALK 2 жыл бұрын
Great question, it really depends on the spot. There was one dive where we were at tight tunnel like this and instead of going backwards we just went further in for a minute until we found a big enough spot to safely turn around. All 3 of us were able to turn around and exit the tight tunnel safely.

@@DIVETALK Hello gentlemen. You should check out some UK cave diving videos, where cave diving started in the 30's of course - although I believe there were some folk free diving caves in the 20's. 4 Celsius only, and mostly pretty silted out, might not make for the best prese tation on your channel, but it seems to be a whole different take on diving in caves!

Have been watching all Your videos and just realized I hadn't subscribed, sorry, problem solved, as a long time FF/Medic, one of my jobs has always been confined space rescue/recovery. I just moved to Wakulla FL, and somebody asked why I hadn't tried cave diving. After watching Your video's, Mike Young, and came to learn I was living 10 minutes from the legendary Edd Sorensen for years, I'm frustrated I didn't know about this sooner! So, I've stopped by Edd's shop and will be putting together a safe, attainable training schedule so that hopefully by next year I'll be certified and have enough experience to see this amazingly beautiful underwater world! This video is a cave 1 hr North of me! Thank You for Your video's and always stressing safety first!!!

I wish I was able to get scuba certified. When I was a kid I had a near drowning incident in a pool when I was left unattended. Since then I get an intense fear when I feel water on my nose. Even if it's in the shower I freeze up and panic. It's kept me from doing a lot of things I want to do since I used to live on the coast. I've tried to get over this fear but I'm not able to. I have to wear a mask whenever I get into water, which is fine until it comes off. The best I can do is whitewater kayaking. So far I have only been capsized twice but I was able to stay calm and get my face out of the water. Thank you for letting me live vicariously through you all.

It is located about 1hr west of Luraville/Ginnie area, and about an hour east of Tallyhassee. Tons of tunnels, and just some of the most beautiful cave Bottom line you gotta go, and probably dedicate a weekend for diving there, then come back again and again John

I don’t know, I’ve never dove, and wouldn’t ever dive because of my medical condition, but I’d definitely want to the leas diver. Watching the lead go into those tiny crevasses freaks me out, but if I’m the one facing it, all I’m doing is thinking of how I’m getting through it. That in the zone feeling you get.

I'm not the one that thinks they would like the tighter caves but this one actually seems pretty decent. I think I would in fact like to do that one day.

Great Video! THX for the comments on it! Would I dive there? Yes! Would my Kiss Classic fit there? Most likely not...Keep it up and stay safe!

I'm going to spend the whole video looking out for a jump to the left? And then a step to the right?
