Skydiving is regulated by the FAA. which is Gov't because of use of NAS.

I know that it's important to remain professional and respectful when talking about events like these, and you guys did a great job maintaining decorum. That being said, I really struggle to think of Debbie Snow as anything other than an incompetent, negligent, villainous piece of irredeemable trash. I'm a non-diver but as soon as I heard that she was putting rocks in a kid's pockets I knew that there wouldn't be anything positive to say about her. Bob is a hero, and I think the diving community would benefit from having instructors that are more like him. Thanks for covering this, guys. -RIP Linnea Mills.

Living in Sweden, had some close calls when starting to dive in dry suite, Learned a lott from the mistakes and equipment failures. Thank you for bringing story to us around the blue planet. Everyone can learn from this, and PADI should sit down and explain Why T F the are hiding in the shadows!

HOLD UP the instructor TOOK the dive computer... can we say tampering with evidence. this woman needs to be in jail. im sorry this was at lest gross negligence and manslaughter same as if you hit some one with car... this girl is dead because DIRECTLY because of the instructors actions. at a MIN she should charged with obstruction for taking the dive computer.

Of the many concerning things this event brings to light is the government response to it. (In theory) Government is there to protect us from the type of abuses exhibited by PADI in their selfish interests. Instead, they protected PADI. Somewhere along the way, PADI (and up) lost their way - they’re supposed to prevent “instructors” like Debby from ever getting that title and all should be held accountable.

About soldier crabs... They look similar to a species of crab in the panhandle of Florida called Ghost Crabs. They burrow shoulder deep into the sand on the beach to stay right above the water table so they don't drown, but are still in an a moist environment as required per design of nature. In the cooler months they migrate from the Gulf side of the barrier island (Santa Rosa/Ft. Pickens) to the sound side. During this migration, hundreds are crushed under the tires of vehicles on the 399 (only road on said barrier island). After decades of hurricane devastation and sand dune errosion (island flooded/under water) the numbers of ghost crab has declined. Not all crab are water creatures - see coconut crabs.

How it’s possible that because the dive was done in a remote location the instructor didn’t have an O2 kit? 2 hours waiting for assistance 😮. No words!!!

I cannot fathom that the AUSA didn't pursue charges. It's mindblowing. Hopefully, since there isn't a statute of limitations, there will one day be a trial. Thank you all for sharing. I'm so sorry for the loss and trauma you all suffer. Thank you Woody and Gus for this extended interview. May Linnea live long thru her foundation

Lisa, Bob, and David keep telling Linnea's story until they don't want to hear it anymore and then tell them again! I do believe Gull Dive Shop and Debbie Snow should be legally held responsible for their actions and other shops and instructors need to understand students look up to them for safe training. Everybody hold strong and a huge THANK YOU for telling Linnea's story!

This story is heartbreaking from start to finish.Linnea was let down by the people she trusted. Thank goodness Bob was there. At least he did try to help and he did try to save her, more than can be said of the professionals. Bob is a hero and i commend his bravery, risking his own life to try and save Linnea. May all involved in this incident eventually find some peace and solace. And to Linneas family, my deepest condolences

I feel like the park service was in SYA mode because they allowed the dive to occur without a permit. A park ranger showed up and did nothing. That ranger should have stopped the diving. So the they got to investigate themselves. That's not how this is supposed to work. If a police department has an issue, the sheriff will investigate. If the sheriff has an issue the CHP will investigate. No one is allowed to do their own investigation.

I am going to throw a curve ball in here. I will suggest that the dive instructor was not charged with a criminal offense is because she is a woman. I suggest if it had been a man he would be serving time.
@firemann329522 сағат бұрын
At first my condolences, it's everybody involved. It's a wonderful thing that you're trying to make the best of this horrible situation by promoting safety so no others have to go through a similar tragedy. IMO #padi is more concerned about $$$ and looking inept from signing off on unqualified instructors to ever want people digging into thier secrets.
@levelup624322 сағат бұрын
This is such a tragic story, and it speaks volumes how PADI has done nothing to acknowledge the negligence of the instructor or investigate the lapses in protocols and procedures that led to such an unnecessary death of a young life. There must be a central governing body to audit these dive agencies when these things happen and ensure the same mistakes can never happen again.

This is so hard to watch. Isn't it a crime to hide evidence? In Germany you could be sued for this. This whole case dosen't make sense.

Oh my gosh, that scholarship name 🥺🥺🥺, that is so lovely. My heart goes out to everyone involved and affected by this. It is shameful there was no legal justice for that negligence. As someone who also watches true crime, it is my opinion that even if there wasn't a case for criminal negligence (which I think there is), there should be charges for attempting to hide evidence and hindering an investigation.

12:30 Your body (tissue etc) gets compressed at 100m - but as your body is mostly water it's not that significant or not the biggest of your immediate issues at those depths. The thing is that the gas you're breathing must be at high enough pressure otherwise your lungs might collapse, your ear drums might rupture etc - but that's what the regulator is essentially taking care of, isn't it? It lowers the pressure of the bottled air to whatever ambient pressure at depth is. Or am I wrong about this?

Hello Dive Talk team aka Gus and Woody ~ I was wondering if there was a way I could send you guys a video intro sample I made for you folks and your channel. I enjoy wanting your videos and thought you guys might like to see it or possibly even use it 🌊💙
This is awful, so incredibly sad. That there is no accountability for the actions that caused Linnea’s death… The pain of losing their dear, dear child and then the authorities treating the parents horribly… I hope your video, Gus and Woody, will lead to justice for the family. It’s insane that the dive shop and Debbie got off without criminal charges. What kind of people are they? Bad ones.

The reason of the temperament of Padi is the fact they don t persue the "safty in diving", they persue "money" and what happen and continue happening expose her bussines. The same thing happen with DAN, they don t fucking care what happen with Woody, her standards are a cover just to justify the existence of her bussines. If Woody with all of his rights sue DAN they -even more- they with all of his power will tried to silence Dive Talk. The Linneas mum just tell PADI send lawyers to silence her.

Rest In Peace Linnea. I hope her family and Bob (as far as possible) can find peace. Bob’s a hero. It wasn’t his fault and I would have him as a dive buddy any day. Unfortunately you don’t know what you don’t know. I was lucky that the PADI Dive Centre I went from Open Water to Divemaster had an outstanding attitude to safety, but if that sort of shop & instructors are not responsible for your education, then how can students know what good safety standards are? I have friend in a persistent vegetative state from a diving accident - a buddy that got distracted and swam away, and as with this case an inattentive instructor and no divemaster. The water is lethal if good safety procedures are not in place. Sadly there are too many preventable accidents, irrespective of dive org.

Corruption leaves everyone frustrated angry and upset, we don’t even have to live in the same country to feel the effects of corruption. Every single person tied to a body that has done all they can to coverup the negligence, are corrupt, they are dirty people whom leave a trail of pain & despair They all must be so proud of themselves having that as their legacy on earth, corruption 😢
