Excellent, thank you. The manufacturers don't want us to know this, but these dispensers are another single use plastic waste that doesn't have to be.

The funny thing is you can buy what they advertise as being ‘refillable’. Empty cuticle oil pens. Yet they don’t tell you _how_ to refill them after the first initial fill.

Saw this thumbnail and literally JUST said ‘shut up!’ because I have some pens that are almost empty and have been t r y i n g to figure out how to do this!! THANK YOU, Natasha! I love your channel!! ❣️♥️❣️♥️❣️ P.S. Having just watched this, my only request is to be mindful of the background color. For me, it’s a little difficult to see the clear/white pen against the very bright white background, with the little white components that are also white. Cheers and have a smashing day!! 😍

Natasha Lee I just watched this again and caught the Dexter reference 😂🤣😂🤣😂 Also - with the Bliss Kiss style of pen, you can just pull the brush nib end off from the body of the pen! Give it a go - wrap a napkin around the end, grip it around at the little ridge, and gentlyfirmlygently pull it straight apart - no more bleeding!!! I have learned so much from you, so this is me returning the favor. 🤓

Thanks so much for this video! Works perfectly when refilling the newer Bliss Kiss pens. You dear, are a gem! I found using pliers (regular or needle nose) to pull the brush tip and end cap off worked so much better than prying pieces apart with a cuticle pusher or curette. More control...less risk of cutting yourself.

This is amazing! I bought a set of 5 empty ones on Amazon as I'm making my own oil at the moment. However, I was suprised how quickly I get through it and worried that once I'd got through all five, I'd need to throw them away and buy more. So much better for the environment, too!

This video is a lifesaver! I used the second technique (only bottom can be taken off) on The Body Shop Almond Cuticle & Nail Oil and it worked like a charm. The bottom was kind of difficult to remove but I managed to add almond & coconut oil for some extra thickness, screwed the plunger and the bottom piece back on and now I have brand new cuticle oil!

Btw, pliers with rubber grips work well for getting the nib out without causing accidents. I managed to pull the bum end off by bare hand quite easily with a bit of wiggling it back and forth slightly to loosen it. ☺️

I love the fake Opi cuticle oil pens ❤️ and Ialso reuse them! And they are like the bliss kiss ones, so I will keep in mind that I could also pry off the bottom as well instead of trying to pull it off 👍🏻❤️ but if you do want to have a cheap refillable Oil pen and have the advantage of having oil in it first, go on eBay and search for cuticle oil pens, I am pretty positive that those show up there’s and also you can buy one at a time if you want. They are my favorite cuticle oil! And I like to use multiple cuticle oil‘s and oil’s lol ❤️

@JadeLeaf19806 жыл бұрын
I knew there had to be a way to do it. Mine doesn’t have it’s satisfying little click anymore after cleaning and refilling it but it still pushes out the oil at least. Am glad, I held onto all my used ones in case they were refillable. I use the smaller ones and I can pretty much use one pen up a week so this is great, it’ll save so much money and be putting less plastic in to the environment (it already annoys me enough having to throw away every used up asthma inhaler I get...such a waste - least now I know my nail oil pens won’t have to add to that pile of stuff that just ends up in a recycling bin ☺️).

Is the twisting to release the oil? When I did that I couldn’t twist it backwards to refill. Please advise. Thanks

Ok possibly a stupid question so apologies but if you can get a brush end off can you just go ahead and put oil in or do still have to try and get the back screw bit out to reset it? I have a Born Pretty pen that I purchased with oil in and it looks like it will be the brush end to open.
@jessical48669 ай бұрын
3:10 I’m trying to use the exact same tool to pry up the twist end, but all that’s gotten me is a teeny gap the width of the tool and a chewed up Bliss Kiss pen. Even doing the exact motion shown in the video just leads to the plastic denting.

You can clip the little springy bits (for lack of a better word) off that stop the pen from twisting backwards, just use a nail clipper and clip them at an angle so the teeth on the gear can spin freely either way without catching. this way you won't have to take the bottom part off and you can turn it back without opening the bottom each time, and then just refill from the brush end of the pen.

I could never get the bottom of the pen off in order to refill mine. What I do is twist it the opposite direction (dislocating that little gear) all the way down until it stops. Then I remove the tip and push the plunger back down. Works just the same and hasn't caused any leaks!

I know this is an old video but I’m sure many still search on how to refill these pens (as I did) so thought this might be helpful for some who have pens where they just cannot remove the bottom part. An easier way I found to refill the pens rather than pull them completely apart. Take off the cap and the brush (pour out any remaining product) get an eyeliner pencil or lip pencil (or anything that will fit in the top end) and push down. It does take a bit of strength but not as much as trying to remove the bottom end. Push it down far enough to refill. It’ll make that same ‘clicking’ noise when you’re doing this as it does when you wind it up. Once that’s done, give it and the brush a good wash in hot soapy water and rinse well. You can sterilise it at this point if you want (Milton or steam sterilise) Allow it to dry well and refill. I’ve done this numerous times with my cuticle oil pens and it’s so simple.

For anyone else who is wondering, I was successfully able to do this today. I removed the brush tip as shown, then pried apart the plastic at the clicker to remove the mechanism. I then disassembled the mechanism and was able to reset the clicker that was "out of clicks". It was a little more of a pain than what was shown in the video, but it did work.

With the removable tip one, why not just cut the locking mechanism off (the little tiny springs that makes the clicking noise)? Then you can just retract the plunger like a lipstick and refill it from the tip end every time. What is the negative side to that?

7:30 I can't get the brush to pop back into the barrel firmly. There's a visible gap. Every time I remove the cap it pulls the brush out a tiny bit & there's oil slowly seeping up the sides. I used to refill these brush pens a lot but I switched to rolereballs & now I can't remember the trick to getting the brush back in firmly 😂 I've tried everything I can think of to force the brush into the barrel but the tiny 'ledge/ridge' is so hard to push on (yes I broke 2 nails already 🤦♀️) If anyone remembers the trick to firmly get the brush back in - I'd really appreciate your advice! every time I use a screwdriver or something to remove or open similar things I always say "I'm not getting up just to get a better tool, I'll be fine" 2 minutes later I'm tending to puncture wounds. NOTHING will beat the business end of micro crochet hooks getting stuck in your flesh. normally I can stay calm in these situations but with this one I had to push it further through to clip the hook off so I could pull it out. Now I always make sure to have safety glasses and nitrile lined gloves among other safety tools. Be safe and cut towards your buddy.
