Hi Robert, thanks for taking the time to comment. We will try our best to film, but not sure about the wifi status on uploading videos there - it took us 10 hours to upload this last one with what we thought was good wifi. Cheers

Hi Scott, Laurie. Love your videos, big fan. You and many others have inspired me, Thank you!! Hope to see you out there soon. Just a suggestion about the lousy wifi, wherever that may be. When your rendering your final video, in Adobe Premiere, at least, and there are other ways to shrink, or slightly degrade, the quality of the video to shrink its file size. SO between scaling the video to say, 720 x 480.or even 1280 x 720, and bringing the bit rate down, you can still have a great looking video, but it will be much smaller in size. THEN, when you find great fast internet, you could replace the degraded, but very watchable, video, with the full blown, awesome 4k version. Lotsa Love..

Scott/Laurie..... one of my favorites. Missed you. I fell out of my chair laughing with your spinnaker video. I love the uncut realist. Hi Jim! We are now in Bora Bora, having crossed the Pacific from PV at the end of March. We have 10 new videos ready to go, but have not yet found wifi here in French Polynesia strong enough to upload any of them so far. Hopefully, when we back track to Tahiti July 6th, we will find good wifi. We appreciate your support. Cheers

Hi Scott and Laurie, Great video. One of the best. What are your plans for the South Pacific? Are you set to go next month? Please keep us posted. Where did you learn to fly your drone? It appears you have it mastered. Be safe and have fun. Best regards, Gary, Linda, and Gregg Clayton, CA
@offthestarboardhull89136 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, Linda and Gregg We are planning to leave for the Marquesas at the end of March and will explore French Polynesia for the 90 days that the visa allows. Scott learned how to fly the drone from the internet - it is quite user friendly. Thanks for keeping tabs on us and hope to see you again somewhere exotic. Cheers

just read an entry you made on cruisers forum back in 2017 and you mentioned you have sailed 12000nm on Muskoka. Did I miss a trip you made or did you not video it?

We are now at 17000 nm, we sail a lot. We are now in Pouheva, Makemo atoll in the Tuamotus, French Polynesia. When we finally get good internet, we have 10 edited videos ready to go.

Scott/Laurie...sorry I'm writing in open here bt did have a question regarding your 40 boat length and how the ride feels thus far in terms of sea state, speed, comfort, etc. My cat is several feet shorter than yours and I'm wondering what your thoughts are. Thanks Ken.
@offthestarboardhull89136 жыл бұрын
Ken Kaz Hi Ken, We do not find that there are many points of sail that are uncomfortable, that said every once in a while I wish she was 60 ft. Shorter Catamarans tend to hobbyhorse in certain Sea states. I would say that in 3years of being full time and 12,000nm I could count on my fingers the # of times hobbyhorsing was uncomfortable. At 45 ft it seems less of an issue and at 60 ft. it all goes away. Modern Catamarans are designed with features that subdue the problem. Hope that helps Cheers
@offthestarboardhull89136 жыл бұрын
Ken Kaz Sorry Ken I sent an unfinished work. As for speed MUSKOKA is a true cruising Catamaran, we trip plan @ 6.5 knots per hour and seem to be close to being at our destination at the time estimated. We have had 9.9 knot daily averages but far and few between, honestly surfing and flying at those speeds gets tiring. Top speed 15.8 knots and no problems, of course a surf but we will take it. As for our comfort level let’s call it a 9.5 out of 10. We have lots of room and Sailing her is a dream. Cheers

Off The Starboard Hull Hello Scott....thanks for the feedback. I suppose they're all a compromise to some extent. Our boat is fairly light at 15000 loaded but I try to keep her at 13-14 or so. We're not minimalist but we dont carry much crap. No AC.. lots of fans and all solar. Only have two thru hulls for the heads not counting saildrives of course. Anyway, life looks great on your. We're watching your adventures whenever you post. I'm a tinker bell so I especially love all the wrench stuff. I've been through rudder dismantling and maintenance. I have a Fountaine Pajot. I believe the rudder bearing and tube arrangement are similar/same so if you ever experience tight steering send me a quickie and I'll help you troubleshoot. Steering issues are on the list of "bummers". Kbbsken@gmail.com. Safe travels Scott. See you and Laurie on the channel👍 Ken

What you were calling a 'pie plate fish' is called a 'look down'. They school and are very thin. When they turn toward you, it almost looks like they disappear.
