Great videos. We dove a couple beautiful sites in Curaçao last week. Had an amazing green turtle encounter. While it was similar, there is nothing like Bonaire. Chachacha and the divi house reef are very nice dives. The wreck on the Divi house reef mentioned by another commenter is a cool little artificial reef between 70-90ish feet. Definitely worth spending some time and memory card space. 🤙

@@TropicLens I was shocked to hear about the park closing. It will be amazing if that stops/slows the spread. We have our annual trip in September 🤞🤞🙏here’s hoping it doesn’t spread much further.

@@MikeR_DiveR Well, there haven't been any updates to the impacted sites map since May 13th. Not sure if that is due to actual slowing or reporting issues. Given SCTLD's spread throughout the Caribbean, it would be odd that it stopped in its tracks. Still, there is some good research going on with the Smithsonian and other efforts showing promise. As you graphically depicted...fingers crossed!

The anchor is there. I believe it’s at 8 / 10 meters depth. If you start the at dive chachacha towards the Divi Divi you will find it on the way back to the pier. There is a plaque with some text as it is a memorial.

Either we're blind, it's been covered a bit by weather or we didn't go far enough. :-) We followed that depth from the Chachacha pier to the marker buoy at Divi Flamingo which is just in front of their pier. Is it south of that buoy? (e.g., more directly in front of Divi Flamingo?) It would be great to capture the plaque as well...if we can find it.

Hey David and Leslie! Great video! Hope to see more now that Leslie"s ankle has healed.The anchor is south of the pier at 20-25 feet. There is also the Divi Wreck a little farther south at 75 feet. I learned of these from a guy who also lives on Bonaire. His name is Rich, I don't know him personally but he also has a KZbin Channel called A Divers Life and has some great informative videos. Awesome. We're glad you liked the video. Also, thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about the anchor location. Just to be sure, are you referring to the Chachacha pier or the Divi Flamingo pier? We traversed between the two at that depth and didn't see it. We also don't know how big it is. Perhaps, we're expecting a large anchor and its tiny?!? :-)

@TropicLens South of Chachacha. Strange that you didn't come across it, it's a good sized anchor so you wouldn't have missed it. There is video of it in the link I sent you. Let me know if you dive the site again!

Yeah, we dove south down to the marker buoy in front of the Divi Flamingo pier. Is it even further than that? Perhaps our eyes are failing in our old age. ;-) Also, what do you mean by "good sized"? How big would you say it is...although that might make us feel worse if it's a 10 foot anchor. :-)

Of all the beautiful reefs there are to dive in Bonaire, why would anyone compare this dump to them

Your point is well taken and there are more beautiful reefs from a coral and sponge perspective; however, as we quoted in the video, “Life finds a way.” -- Dr. Ian Malcolm from Jurassic park. We did see two first time captures, so there are some fun creatures to be seen there and it's also a very easy entry with a dive shop right across the street. Consider it proof that, no matter where you dive, you just might see something amazing. :-)
