Yea I'd send it on water pump, just given the milkshake circumstance alone, and ditto on those expansion plugs mentioned below. Super nice video series you got going, nice and clear, this is a great video for anyone going down this rabbit hole.

I did end up doing the water pump after seeing it done.. the right extensions and wobbles it was no big deal. Originally I felt like the intake manifold was gonna have to come off for the water pump and I was not into it. Regarding the expansion plugs, seems like if they aren’t leaking they should be left alone… research showed they can be problematic if not done just right . Mine were well dry so I decided not to touch

@@AutoAfflicted good call! Yea if they’re dry might as well leave ‘em alone! Can’t wait to see it up an atom again!

Did this a couple of years ago. Now is the time to replace the waterpump and the small hose from the block to the pump. Easy job with the head off, with the head on, not so much.

Also check the Mercedes Engine Expansion Plugs/coolant plugs - (Genuine Mercedes 000000006528), over time they rust and causes a coolant leak. I made the mistake to only replace the press in ones and not the screw plug at the end of the block. Started the leak and it's a pain to remove with the exhaust manifold inplace. I would replace them as a maintenance item.

Slippery slope time... just do it all. Nut and bolt resto. ;-) When I did the RS2 spec upgrade on my AAN the project creep was massive...
