Hi Ollie, love watching your vids. Just a question tho when measuring pack horses...its hard to tell from your vid (at 18.05) where your measuring from but is seems to be from the rear of the body (or legs) when I thought its from the first calcified bar on the first (tail) segment...so another notch back from where your measure is? Not a dig, just that MPI's basic pics are confusing and if I've interpreted you correctly I've let allot of good packys go!
@a_hunters_tracks77272 жыл бұрын
Hi Rodney, you are indeed correct with the measurements for Packhorse Lobster. It starts from the underside of the first calcified bar on the tail and not from the base of the carapace.

I do a lot of solo dive trips over here in New England and I really appreciate your work. I bring a plastic ocarina with me and play some melodies to help deal with the psychological aspect of being out alone on the ocean. @olliecraig-primalpursuit2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. No, unfortunately I don’t. But keep your mental game in all aspects of life strong and it will help. Meditate and regular exercise/ food nutrition will help the mind be strong. Time in the water will help

Hi Ollie, I am truly enjoying your video, thank you so much for providing such a beautiful scene every time. Just curious is it ok to visit any random islands in NZ and stay there for camp and cook? Or r there the ones allowed to do this? If so would there be any site or map that I can figure it out? Also curios how much you was it cost to buy your inflatable boat and motor aye. Cheers.
@thepiehunter26332 жыл бұрын
It’s all good as long as you leave it better than you found it. Some maritime reserves but seriously. You can stay over almost most islands. Some are private but they can’t own the beach.

It depends. A lot of islands are reserves for birds so not allowed to land on the beach in case of bringing rodents etc onto the islands. Most information in on DOC website. Not sure how much these boats go for these days. I’m good condition with trailer and motor maybe around 7k?

Hi Ollie. Wondering if you have any knowledge on the west coast of Auckland. When I tell people I want to go diving there ( because I know a few good spots I go land based fishing) they get their backs get up and say it's to dangerous/ more sharks etc... I'm struggling to see the issue if I get a good day with conditions etc... any experience spearfishing around piha, anawhatta, muruwai, whatipu coast line??
@olliecraig-primalpursuit2 жыл бұрын
That is the truth. Definitely more sharks and kaipara/manukau are both breeding grounds to great whites so more of them around too. Currents are insane, my most scariest dive I’ve ever had was out west, nearly didn’t make it back to shore. There are fish etc to shoot but need to be experienced with a very good safety plan
