Happened to see an article on black water diving and decided to look here for some videos. Found yours and I have to say not only is this super cool, the combination of your music and the beauty of the dive is more relaxing than most meditations I e tried! Thank you for sharing this. Absolutely wonderful! I e always been terrified of water at night but this definitely opened up a whole new world. Very, very AMAZING 😍

Wow! Thank you. We’re thrilled to hear you found our video both super cool and relaxing. Blackwater diving is certainly equal parts a little unsettling, especially when just getting in the water, and relaxing. Because once you’re under the water, it’s so peaceful. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Have you heard of anyone spotting a blanket octopus doing this kind of dive? Ever since I saw one during broad daylight I’ve been itching to see another as I’ve heard it’s one of the rarest creatures to see while diving SoFlo. Only ever seen one and it was on a dive site I’ve spent hundreds maybe even thousands of hours diving. Thanks for the content and info!

Wow. A blanket octopus would be incredible to see. Unfortunately, we've never seen one, not even while black water diving. Maybe you'll get another chance encounter again someday. That's one thing we enjoy so much about diving. The more time you spend in the water, the more opportunities you have to find something rare. All the best, and sorry for the late reply. We had to take a break from the channel. Jeff

We do night dives here in Monterey. A bit of bioluminescence but the best is that’s when the octopus come out. And it’s an epic shore dive

Great question and sorry for the delayed response, we were diving Socorro in Mexico and just returned from our trip. I hope you had an incredible dive. This was our first real attempt at Black Water video/photography. So we're not experts in this area, but find that positioning the lights inline with the lens and down a little created the best results. Somewhere around the 8:00 and 4:00 positions on a clock. Thanks for watching and commenting. -- Jeff

Hi Jeff you should really be on TV I just watched it again on my phone spectacular ! And if it was on TV it would be something else again it is something the public never gets to see Years ago I did a dive out of fort Lauderdale I took pictures of turtles and all kinds of fish I have no idea of what they are you describe everything in such detail once again very well done! If I was on that dive I would have a line on the buoy the whole way

Pretty exciting and a bit scary dive to say the least hehe. Your buoyancy control in the water is paramount at this point. Great shot of the pigmy sea horse! What lens did you use for that?

Just watched shark week on TV Would you do this same dive off cape Town with breaching great whites ? With your Garmin iridium if you drifted off you could tex the boat You could also take along a waterproof vhf with built in GPS in a hard case and call then up the advantage of the iridium is the size and if you hit the panic button you have satellite tracking (and deal with the aftermath later main idea get out of the water) I noticed in ove of your videos you have a online store do you have the link and do you ship to Canada? Have a great day !
@TritonsRealm

The dive off Cape Town with Great Whites would be exciting, and we'd certainly be up for it. Maybe one day we'll have the opportunity. Below is a link to our online store. In addition to our videos, we design shirts that are inspired by different dive sites or destinations. We do ship to Canada, but it's a few extra $$. shop.tritonsrealm.com Thanks again for watching and for all your support. We certainly appreciate it.
