Orbbb24 this is not going to revolutionize D & D in any positive way. DND should be about Dynamic emergent options chosen by the players instead of a rigid computer screen or a script to follow. The gamification of Dungeons & Dragons is what's is killing the hobby.

My Wishlist: -let us change skills -give us some poses or animations to play around with, maybe even idle walking? -pls let the avatar picture change when we customise a characters head! -deeper item-creation (let us mix and match tooltips and model with whatever Item we want) All of those would be great! If any of the above are already in the game and I missed them, pls let me know :) What would YOU want as a feature?

An idea of mine: Make an event trigger system that, when eg. a player walks into a bush, allows events such as npc moving to a specific location, a monster appearing, or the player gets a debuff. Another idea that other people in the comment section is also asking for is a path system. Would indeed be nice to have!
@michaelhall88567 жыл бұрын
It'd be great to be able to insert dialogue as they themselves have done for the campaign, Vignettes only go so far.
@maxvitality85987 жыл бұрын
Nothing beats a live GM roleplaying the npcs. That way you're not limited to what you can say. You can say whatever is on your mind and get a 100% authentic and real reaction. Dialogue trees are great for games, but GM roleplaying is great for entering an alternate universe.
@Affews1007 жыл бұрын
I believe the main purpose of having a GM campaign is having all the players and GM at some voice channel. A RPG section usually has too much dialogue, it's easier to just have the players do it themselves, without excluding the other people who aren't part of the in-game dialogue.

Just want to say that I am delighted how you keep saying, "You can change it to ones that we have provided you or you can select your own." You know what would be interesting? 1.) The ability to create predefined paths/actions for characters in the mode so they aren't statically just sitting there without intervention (maybe on a timer or something instead of constant). 2.) Assign text dialogue to certain characters and options/responses for them (with a system that tells you when they are being talked to and what responses are given). 3.) I don't know if you can already, since you've made it have so much freedom to begin with, the ability to add your own audio files for music and sounds. Just thinking aloud.... I really do like what you've done with the mode as is and can't wait to see what people will do with it. I may see if you have a forum and see if other things like this have been posted.

I wish this had Triggers like Age of Empires 2 for example. You can trigger patrols, enemy reactions, dialogues, quests, scenario, how enemy react to scenario, how the game reacts when a player character enter a area that trigger something, how talking with someone could trigger a event, dialogue or behavior, how casting a determined skill on a determined NPC could trigger a event or a new chain reaction of triggers like dialogue and quest. What i most wanted of this game is that i could FREELY mod anything, even the campaign, i want to add new quests, with new enemies and bosses, skills and unique rewards, so many possibilities that i wish it was true and would make it the best game ever for me, i have the time and disposition to it but i can't because its not possible, just thinking how i would spend weeks modding this game with quests items and enemies. I liked to play around with triggers in age of empires 2 and i actually spent more time on it than in the actual Singleplayer or Multiplayer, just playing my custom maps.

Do you have any plans to add a feature to play specific animations on NPCs? As an example if I setup a tavern-scene I have a lot of random NPCs around with no specific role. @Peregrius7 жыл бұрын
I was also looking for this, as well as how to have characters travel between scenes, like a large dungeon
@HeyFox1017 жыл бұрын
Taco, there is no path function in the game. As well as many other tools that'd essentially make the editor a full scale game editor instead of this castrated "GM-mode". Marshall, there is a way to make characters travel between locations - you need to set them to follow the players. It doesn't makes them actually run after the player, but makes them follow the players between the locations.
@Peregrius7 жыл бұрын
RaptorAnton that's super depressing. Take it that also explains why you can't connect rooms in GM mode either ?
@gratox17307 жыл бұрын
Yeah, for some reason they seem to think that pathing or scripting in this way takes control away from the GM, despite already having a mechanic that works in the same way (enable trading), showing them to be hypocrites. It doesn't take away control, it allows for easier micro-management. My guess is that it was too difficult to program so they just came up with an excuse to not do it. Immensely disappointing.
@blindtruth46147 жыл бұрын
I think that you guys need to give them a bit of time to actually expand on the initial release they needed to get the game in a fit state for release, I am sure that these tools will be expanded with time but I do feel your disappointment with what is lacking at the moment. Hopefully now that the game is out and the workload should be a bit lighter on the devs we will quickly see a more useful GM mode after the bugs in the game are fixed of course.

@@TargetSniper365 A voice chat and a team collaboration software are closer to paper tabletop. I do have my doubts that I could use it to visualize a busy marketplace in a major city, a horseback chase or a tavern brawl with chandelier swinging and all this fun stuff. Sure, you could play those scenes without visualization, but then, you still run into the problem that you'd use different rules for these scenes. I do see some potential in GM mode, but it requires more editing options to become something truly incredible.

Personally I've never gmed before and am not super confident about doing it, but I would love it if I could make dialogue box options like the game has for my friends to play through. I'm much more comfortable with making something complete and then letting them play around with it. It's definitely a useful tool but I kinda thought it was going to be different than what it is.
