I believe it's Van Ryder Games doing the story for that one. Lucky Duck is handling the production and app. Van Ryder knows how to do story.

I backed it because I thought it looked different from other story games but yeah, all of the players I played with don't want to continue after 2 games.

@IJJusion he literally just game his last review, Nova aetas a 6, and he trashed the game ... Its the dice tower 99% of games get a 6 or 7

@@thecrabbydice A score of six means that they would be willing to play it if asked, but below six they generally would avoid the game. Seven is a recommendation. Most of the games that are gifted with a "full review" (as opposed to stuff that is thrown into a round up of some sort) are likely decent enough that most people would be willing to play the game if asked. Otherwise, why waste the time making a full review if only to tell you the game is trash? I think most of the people at the dice tower have played enough games that they can pick and choose ones that they think will at LEAST be a six and this is evidenced by their "expected" games usually being fairly correct (the thing they miss the most about the expected games is them releasing in the year they think it will happen). I would say that over 50% of the reviews get at least one 7 because of the selection bias that goes into the reviewing of the games. Why even bother reviewing a game if you don't think you will like it?

​@@thecrabbydice In that he did say a lot of negatives, but also said multiple times he liked things in it, and said 'there's a lot of good things in this game' and 'the things that keep me from loving it' - you dont say those things about games you'd rate low (and to a lot of people a 6 isnt a high score) Regarding most games getting a 6 or a 7, you're going to get a majority of games landing in a score range as 'not standing out' and I think 6-7 is a fair range for that, but to each their own - if most games landed in 4-5, you would hope publishers would be able to recognize that and either not publish, or make changes before publishing, if you watch their week in reviews, they generally have a pretty good variety in scores (most land in the 6-7 range, but as I said above it seems fair - and I'd prefer that than most landing in 8-9's)

Seeing this have a more family or basic game appeal is immensely disappointing when ive been waiting so long for this and the premise was a much meatier one

I'm glad I canceled my pledge for this game. It looks pretty mediocre. I 've enjoyed my plays of Destines, but haven't pulled it off the shelf in years. I think I might be done with app assisted games.

Have you played Oathsworn? App is not necessary but Shadowborne game did an amazing job with it and significantly helps with streamlining the story-mode. Best campaign for us (15 encounters in right now)
