It was a mark of Divinyls that they gave 110% every performance. I saw them many times and they were always perfect, and they played loud but it was crystal clear. Chrissy became the character she sang about in every song. That and her incredible voice made her one of the best frontpersons ever, as good as Freddy Mercury and better than Mick Jagger. Her audience adored her, and still do. Tremendously under-rated band.

I was playing bass for some Aussie bands in the eighties and got to play with the Divinyls one night in Ferntree gully when their bass player was fucked from drugs and alcohol.
