Ageless rock & roll performed by one of the tightest bands that has come out from Australia, So far ahead of their time. unfortunately at the time, the world didn't fully realize how awesome they were. It's so heartwarming to see a woman outperform any man on stage with her mannerisms & vocal antics. Such a joy to watch them perform. Only saw them live once - so professional. Such energy out of such a little package,.Mark is so dynamic. My favorite Australian band of all time. We all so-so-so miss you, Chrissy. Thank goodness we have these high-quality films to watch & relive the performance of Australia's best Rock & roll band - thanks Warner Brothers WEA. & Chrysalis One of life's great experiences was to see the Divinyls perform live.

Chrissie is a Goddess! I remember as a kid my sister taking me to see her at Expo 88. I was like 13, the year before my brother had blown my mind, getting a copy of 5150 on record, I wanted to learn the guitar. Then seeing the Divinyls, Chrissie live, dear God, I think I just stood there with my mouth wide open the whole time... I wanted to play in a Band! I fell in love with Chrissie that day, and Never fell out of love, she is a Goddess to this day. An Aussie Icon that should be celebrated, admired, loved and remembered. There's another Aussie Rock Goddess out there, ready to tear the establishment apart. I know Chrissie would Want that, I just hope I live to see the New Rock Goddess Smash her way to the top in Her own way!

Thanks for the upload, at the times I saw them live the venues didn't allow for any recordings. I'm in Melbourne, Australia and saw the band very time they came down since 1984. The older songs are the best. There were times when Chrissy asked me to do photos whilst they performed, which we were only allowed back in the day. I've been overviewing my faves recently and also this bit part shows her essence in early years I appreciate it. It does appear she had a cold or similar but I recall when they played they went on for about 90-100minutes per gig. It's a pity we didn't have mobile phones with cameras back then. I have never counted how many times I saw then live but sure it was 50 plus easily. Thank goodness in Melbourne we had multiple great venues to see the band. I was looking for the original Hey Little Boy video clip they recorded in Melbourne in 1988, I have it somewhere on old VHS as I saw we were standing etc. It's now been over 10 years since she passed and yes - very prophetic sadly that I can visualize Chrissy singing When The Good Die Young. Sadly missed RIP Aussie Rock Queen.

Man, she really was one of the greats. I saw them right around this time (‘85) at Numbers in Houston, and she just rocked the fuckin’ roof off as I remember it. The whole band was great, but she _really_ took things next level. I’ve witnessed a lot of great and strong frontwomen through the years, and I wouldn’t hesitate to say that Chrissie was easily in the top five. Unfortunately, here in the states the only thing they were really known for is “I Touch Myself”. Not a terrible song, but way after the fact and far from their best. America is like that. Most people here don’t have a clue, though me and a few others I knew back then were getting heavily into them from ‘81 and onward. She really was the true definition of “rock goddess”, and a real force to be reckoned with. I feel fortunate to have witnessed it firsthand. Rest in power Chrissie

@CC3193 Жыл бұрын
I'm maybe not the best qualified to answer the question well, but there was a revolving line-up. There were about 5 or 6 drummers overall. The original was Richard Harvey from 1980-1985. Then J.J. Harris in 1985-86, who it may be here. Two founders who were constant members & songwriters were Mark McEntee (lead guitar) & singer Chrissy Amphlett. Sadly, Chrissy died in 2013, and Richard Harvey passed away last year, may they both rest in peace. I think you'll enjoy re-watching 'Science Fiction' at 10:08.
