I grew up in a Christian home I don’t believe in divorce. I’ve been married almost three years and together 8 years prior. It’s been a nightmare. I’m in a abusive relationship mentally and emotionally with an addict . It’s made my relationship with the Lord torn because I’ve been in survival mode. He has gotten physical with me a few times . We don’t have the same values. I regret marrying him I feel I married the wrong person. All three apply to me from this video… I am not at my full potential or purpose I feel like I’m in jail and miserable. I have prayed , fasted , sought counseling on my own . Signed up for a marriage retreat he didn’t want to go . I have tried a temporary separation. We have a child together .. I can’t do it the disrespect I get and the heartache is unbearable . I was married to a narcissist for 10 yrs and didn’t know anything about narcissists but I became just a shell of my former self it was so horrible. I began seeking God every day and He told me to get out. Unfortunately, I had a hard to believing God would do that so I stayed for another year of abuse. God kept saying to get out so I finally obeyed Him. During the divorce process my ex was trying to take our daughter away from me so I kept praying and one day God showed me a quick vision of His huge hand holding a rolled up scroll. He said it was a “divorce decree.” So I knew it was all in God’s hands. And the divorce went smooth and easy in spite of all the ex’s lies about me and I got everything I prayed for including full custody of my daughter. I learned that it’s really important to stop listening to society and do what God is telling us to do no matter what society says or thinks. We must always divorce evil. There is no place for evil people in the lives of God’s children ❤️

In 16 years of marriage. But all of this is our marriage. No purpose and I made the mistake thinking I did right in God’s eyes all to be put to utter embarrassment and shame. I can only pray for him in the fact a relationship with our children don’t perish. I have tried but my capacity has been reached. Its a trying moment,i went through it some years back and i thought my world was over. Trying to explain the children and relatives yet the moment i stepped aside to sort matters,another woman entered my house as the new wife before we could start any negotiating. I always said no, and when I did finally agree to go the counselor basically teamed up with her against me. I've tolerated my husband's childish behavior for much too long; we've been married for 40 years, and I have pretty much been disgusted with him for over 35 of those. He lies, exaggerates, yells (better now, but he used to yell ALL the time), cheated and I didn't find out till I was 7 months pregnant I'm sick to death of him riding around on a lawnmower and thinking that is ALL there is to maintaining a home while I've taken care of the kids, got them to school, helped with homework, took them fishing/camping (they are grown now), did all of the grocery shopping/cooking/dishes. The more I think back the more I realize I've allowed this and maybe I need to see a shrink. I've tried to leave before and every time something happens like me losing my job. I do not even like my husband any more and NOW (because my Irish ancestry is pretty obvious), my husband who is a different race has begun saying things like how much he hates white people, how marrying me was the biggest mistake he made (don't think so, cuz someone else wouldn't be putting up with this sh*t). He is the biggest pig I've ever seen. He has to have the largest portion of food, the best place to park, the best seat in the living room if and when he decides to sit there, and doesn't want to do anything but sit in front of a computer, get high, and play poker. He even said many times that we are 'roommates'. Well, that may be true....but, I've cheated myself out of a real relationship too. I've become quite distrusting, but very much he knows better to hit me (he did it one time, and I took something up and cracked him upside the head which stopped that shit....he knows I'll fight back.) But now I also realize we are close to retirement and HE is the only one that has the 401(k), and I think he has either been taking money out unnecessarily or hiding money somewhere. The man has always earned more than me, and we split the house bills even though I make about $15K less per year than him....and he whines about how he never has any money and is always broke. So sick of this man, but have a fear of becoming like my mom who died with nothing.

Well i have a situation that i doubt anyone will have a solution to-im 54 yrs old,my wife is 40 yrs old. We have been married for 12 years and together for 14 years. We have 3 children-a 14 yr old girl and 9 yr old boy and girl twins that all 3 have autism. I have been diagnosed with psycosis and depression and anxiety from years of drug abuse,i gave up all drugs 6 years ago so im clean but damaged and medicated for my mental health issues. My wife also has suffered from depression and obesity most of her life and came from a very strict religious background that shes no longer involved with. Now we are currently sepperated but live under the same roof,the house we share with our 3 kids is a rental property and its only affordable if the both of us contribute to the costs of the weekly rent,power,phone and internet,ect. We love each other and respect each other but are no longer intimate,my wife has friends and is involved with the kids school a lot so shes always busy with lots of stuff and works part time. Im a stay at home dad on a disability pension due to a lower back injury some years ago so im busy trying to keep a 5 bedroom house clean and the usual yard duties. We are at the stage where we are now only staying together for the kids to have a mother and father figures in their lives,i grew up with sepperated living away from each other parents and i vowed never for my kids to have to go through what i went through as a kid. There is no other rental properties available even if we did want to be completely sepperated so one of us moving out is never going to be an option unless we both moved out and went our separate ways but there is no rental properties available anyways. We are trying to make things work but whenever we make plans to do things as a family unit something ends up changing what we arranged and im bloody sick of it! It feels like my wife is more concerned about her life and what she wants than thinking about whats good for all of us as a family unit. I have no friends in this small town we live in to talk to about how im feeling about things,all i have is a once a week meeting with our local mens shed but they are all older guys than me and are all in their 70s with no kids to worry about so i cant really talk to the guys there about my problems. It feels like we are stuck in groundhog day like the movie sort of,we have put ourselves in this house that we are co dependent upon and theres no were else to go! I dont know what to do about it all,its perplexing and i cant see a solution to fixing this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help? I agree that abuse is the number one reason for divorce, but I firmly disagree regarding couples counseling! I have studied domestic violence for twenty years and couples counseling usually triggers greater abuse often times it triggers the rage in the abuser to the point they may take the life of their spouse and even their children. Couples counseling also educates an abuser on how to more effectively psychologically and spiritually abuse their victim more. I have also lived through this and helped many in their healing journey.

1. Daily verbal and mental abuse check. (After months of fighting since the day of our honey moon, he agreed to seek a professional and a month later gave up) 2. betrayal check, everytime we agree to something, he straight up ignores it. from chores to he not screaming at me and not saying hurtfull things. 3. (purpose) we were in line with this one, we both wanna be parents, but now this is broken because I'm afraid he is gonna commit this verbal and emotional abuse to our future children.

From experience, I stayed in a marriage a long time, even after seeing many lies and red flags in the beginning. If he gave up during counseling that is it, he does not want to take care of you. If a person shows and acts different in front of others but then seems to be a different person when at home, such as ignoring things you talked about and things you want, not helping around the house, then this person is not whole/. Do not remain married to a child.

Married 24 yrs, in our 60's... No infidelity etc.I had a 50k/yr job w/benefits but lost it due to insulin diabetes...custodian is my new career & she's supporting us on Social Security. Wife had seizures & affected her emotional/psychological demeanor. We're still married, but due to the physiological issues from the seizures it's getting difficult at best. She's on anti depressants, lost 60 lbs... she's down to 80lbs. We all change due to circumstances & life etc. but her psychological change, the arguments, the insecurity, covid, medical short sale of our home... from the diabetes, job loss, no health insurance, insulin diabetes, multi car accident from the seizure(s) & she's no longer able to drive.....in the last 2 yrs. has come to a point. I'm no angel & have my issues too, but I don't have the resources, or financial ability, or emotional ability to deal with this much longer or support my part of our marriage. Anybody?

Daniel thanks for this info! My husband & his fam has become a royal pain! I've tried for yrs to get along with them but it's impossible! He makes me the bad guy with everybody!
