Colourful designs on doors entrance is called rangoli, it's put before sunrise to welcome sun and putting it makes your mind sharp, it even avoids spirits entering home as spirits will enter abandoned places which is dark dirt. Before going out from home it should be put, so will bring positive energy.

No it's not, that's what elders say because ppl dont waste food if they'll tell them it's for insects, there's no Indication of anything about evil spirits, there's actually has a scientific reason for every Indian Hindu traditions, usually they were done by Rice flour which also acts as food for small insects that lives on and in the ground, now a days people are using Artificial Colours.

The kids directed you to take ticket, which is a priviledge ticlet so that you don't have to stand in long queue, you could have gone using that 200 Rs ticket in short queue, you just had to ask around for entry with the ticket that you bought

Not sure how your channel popped on my feed, but am mighty glad it did. Good to see a foreigner actually going around India, beyond the same old places that foreign tourists do. I will certainly not advise you against going to the usual Mumbai or Delhi if you want , but please please do not make the mistake of simply going to a neighbourhood or two in these cities and calling it a wrap. Both these cities have so much history that is best reached through a legit guided walking tour. You will walk past history without even knowing its there. The chaos, vehicle horns and cows will make it naturally into your frame so no effort required for that one😊. Each state in India is vast and full of multiple locations to see and explore. If in Maharashtra do atleast see Ajanta/ Ellora, and look if you wish to do a fort trek (would advise with a group). India is endless with what it offers, its sad that most foreign tourists just are too lazy to do any meaningful state wise reserach. I wish you happy and safe travels, and look forward to more of your videos. P.s. If you wish to see mandirs, just do a search for the city/ town you will be going to. At festival.times, and on certain days depending on the location and deity of the mandir, there can be huge rush. Entry is controlled through line systems which can take hours on such days. Also in this case you were sent to the gate that gave the compound access, however you wanted to go inside which the people at the gates may not have realised. If ever in such a situation say you want in to go do " darshan", i.e. get audience of the deity. That's when you will get directed to the gate/ area from where the line goes into the mandir. It is also recommeneded to check for any rules of a mandir before going , such as dress code and even food restrictions which may start 24 -48 hrs before darshan.

Have you visited Ramkund? It is also a beautiful spot to visit.. You can explore the core of the Nashik city there. Nearby is Kalaram Temple, an important site where Lord Ram defeated demons. Few other temples like Kapaleshwar, Naroshankar, Gora Ram, Ahilya Ram have beautiful architecture... If you visit there, Ask locals about Budha Jalebi, a famous sweet shop in nashik

I think the kids said you to go through pass, that way you don't have to go in the line, and you can go inside the temple as well with that pass. Or you don't have to pay if you go through normal line in any temple in India. It might be hard to figure out everything on your own, local people don't have that good english.

@@JesseStLouis Because I doubt if they allow non-hindus inside sanctum. Last time when I was there, there was a board which said only Hindus are allowed. Not sure if its changed now. But all the best! Btw , you may want to try AMK trek since you are around Nasik .. also some other beautiful treks are Harishchandragad & Ratangad. They are amazing places. But you must take local guide with you.

@rollyrolly7729 there's a lot of even more remote places that I'm hoping to get to on this trip. I kept calling this a village mistakenly, it is more of a town. And because of the temple, it gets a lot of local Indian tourists and pilgrims.
