Being from Texas I grew up knowing Texas chili. However, after college I landed a job in Chicago and ended up living 10 years there. My first night in my new apartment, the pantry was empty and so I started walking around my new neighborhood looking for a place to eat. I didn´t know anyone so I had no one to ask. One block from my place there was a small diner specializing in Cincinnati Chili. I had never heard of it before......and I have been hooked ever since. I ate there at least once a week. I´m back in Texas now and have to make my 4-way CC with onions in secret. LOL!

My husband grew up a block away from this Dixie location. He said there was a Minnie Pearl fried chicken restaurant in the space prior to the Dixie chili. We love their chili, eat at that location often. 😊

That's so neat! We were just reading about the rise and fall of the Minnie Pearl's fried chicken restaurant about a month ago, but had no idea that this space was formerly one of them - that's really neat. I have almost all of those cds! I have them in a soft binder thing that I had in my vehicle back then in 90s. That’s a cool restaurant. They don’t skimp in the cheese, so they?!!! Looked really good ! I especially enjoyed the beginning of the video with the history, etc

We still have one of those binders as well and up until this past January, listened to CDs. We had to trade in our old truck for a few reasons and the truck that we have now doesn't have a CD player. This is different. I do chili, no beans, on hotdogs with mustard, slaw and onion. Chili with beans goes over cornbread. Have ya'll ever stayed at Oak Haven Resort in Sevierville? At least one of their cabins, that I know of, has a juke box like this. It's our favorite cabin. We always request it. Hope ya'll have a great weekend and God bless!

We had a Cinci style chili parlor here in Chicago back in the 80's. It was on Van Buren Street east of the Board of Trade. The chili was so dang good. I loved it loaded up with everything. For whatever reason, they closed not long after opening..maybe 2 years??? The food was top notch and they did a good biz. Maybe a landlord issue? Anyway good video here.....Thanks

I love chili on my spaghetti, told y'all plenty of times lol~heck the beans are my favorite part. I don't know why but I've never been able to eat cheddar on it but tons of parmesan :) Now I could tear up some of those chili dogs with cheese though....dang those looked yum!!!!!

I have a great review location for you. It's in Columbus Ohio and it's called The Dairy Twist. They have really really good Coney dogs and their ice cream is amazing. I'm pretty sure they have been there since the 50s and they are always packed. IPad Tony's from all over including the OG George's Coney Island on Broad Street and Wilson Road in Columbus Ohio back in the day and these are better.

No offense to anyone. My taste buds do not enjoy Skyline chili. Perhaps if it had fresh garlic and the rumored chocolate, I might change my mind. That wouldn't hamper me from trying the other restaurants, however. Love the cheese.

Have you ever tried, Gold Star? We enjoy Skyline but the flavoring is much different than Gold Star. You can really taste the richness of the spices in Gold Star's Chili and we personally believe that most people bring up Skyline when referencing Cincinnati chili since they've pushed their franchise hard and have more locations. I've seen Casey Webb from man vs food do an episode in Cincinnati Ohio at a Chile place it might of been blue ash and he got a 6 way Chile from there I think jalapeño poppers was one of the 6 ways with blue ash Chile

I've lived in the Cincinnati area my entire life. I've eaten all types of Cincy Chili. Don't worry about twirling or cutting the spaghetti. Nobody cares which way you do it!
