I have exact same truck. I did this about a month ago and and it works. Next i'm going to try it on my cl-55 amg because it has the same smell.

What you are cleaning is the evaporator coil compartment. The condenser is the radiator in front of the coolant water radiator. What you perhaps should have checked is the drain hole access ( drains the moisture that condenses on the evaporator.

This worked like a charm! Thank you for sharing. I had tried several different things and this worked. Been a week now and no smells have come back.

So did you spray them directly into the fan area? Good information, but would of been better to show in real time. Thanks

I have a 2015 GMC Yukon XL with 106k miles. I am having the same musty smell. The main source seems to be when it is raining or I go through a car wash. Each time, I end up putting Lysol or some disinfectant in the vent under the window and cycle it through the system. It kills the smell for the time being, but I have to repeat EVERYTIME. I have yet to remove the cabin air filter and spray it there. Do you suspect that will help? Or could it be something more? AC works great, no water gets in the cab, and the cabin air filter is new. I did buy this vehicle 4 months ago and the AC had to be replaced right away, so there is no telling how long it sat without working AC prior to that.

The bulk of your smell is most likely the cabin filter itself. The 1st time I ever changed mine it made all the difference. And if you change it regularly you may not get the smell back at that strength ever again.

Nice video. Thanks

Seems a lot more intrusive by spraying it through the cabin filter intake as a pose to the recommended instruction on the can. If it’s going to do the same why not just do it from the outside?

will this clean a dirty and or clogged evaporator?
@OttoDidactic2 жыл бұрын
No. As a universal certified technician, I recommend vacuuming the evaporator on the side that's clogged with the fan off. What he did was kill the bacteria that was in the duct causing the odor.

check your a/c drain line

Did you notice the smell actually get better? Seems to me the coil would get all the cleaner and not get through to the actual ductwork? Thanks!

yes I actually need it to clean the coil as I possibly have a dirty and or clogged partially evaporator in a 94 mustang.
