The front differential is in the transmission so you just change the transmission fluid for the front. The rear uses a different fluid.

ATF DW-1 is for the 6-speed Transmission Honda/Acura, it's a pinkish color. The 9-speed ZF uses Type 3.1, which is greenish color. I hope you didn't put DW-1 into 9 speed, it would mess up your tranny. IMO it's an DW1 is a cheap about $4 per bottle vs Type 3.1 $25.00 per bottle.

Good video. But I got to ask how is it going a month later and a few miles ? Reason why I am asking I am thinking of skipping the long process they describe in the shop repair manual and just measuring what came out and adding the same amount, probably 3.5 just like you. So is it still shifting ok after a few miles?
@MobileCarMechanic Жыл бұрын
Thanks. So the shifts are smoother. Had an occasional jerk from complete stops before the fluid change which is apparently a known issue when the fluid is contaminated/worn out. Since the recording of this video the vehicle has been amazing with the shifts and no complaints from the owner and even verified this driving it myself.
@TonyWareOne Жыл бұрын
@@MobileCarMechanic Thanks for the fast reply! Will do the same, i.e. measure how much it drains and fill the same amount... instead of the crazy lengthy process they describe in the shop repair manual on-line. I get the feeling they put together such a lengthy process for the dealerships to charge a lot of $ for this type of service.
