Have an above ground sprinkler system for cheap!
This can be done for around $40.00. A little extra if you don’t have a hose.
Simply buy an irrigation head, lawn spike, and the adapter and you’re good to go! Add a timer and you can set it and forget it!

@wickedgahdenguy9257
@wickedgahdenguy9257 2 жыл бұрын
@@dieselxdan They're a type of sprinkler that allow you to water efficiently both in the amount you put down as well as the amount you use. MP stands for Matched Precipitation, but they are the funky looking nozzles that have multi trajectory streams of water. As I mentioned earlier, they're great for low water pressure, and are perfect if you are doing an above ground DIY system since they're easily adjustable.

I would love to have an underground irigation system installed but they are so expensive, plus i hear that it's a good idea to have a separate irigation water meter installed which i found out cost $5000 to have it put in by the city. did you go with a separate water meter for your front yard sprinkler system? About how much extra has your water bill gone up using the irigation system?

I was wondering about the pieces you used to connect them. I got a brass 3/4 inch male to 1/2 female similar to what you linked in your description. But then instead of using plastic like you did, I got a brass 1/2 male to 1/2 inch male and then connected it to the spike. I added a washer inside the sprinkler cause it kept leaking out of the bottom a little. Would it be better to use a plastic 1/2 inch to 1/2 male? Could you please list each piece by itself so I can see how you connected them? Thank you for a great idea and video!!

@@RootedLawnCo Thank you for responding! I just wasn't sure, cause I noticed you used a plastic 1/2 inch male to male riser, but I instead used a 1/2 inch male brass nipple... What benefits are there to using these vs a impact sprinkler that is set to run 360*? I set up 2 on 1 spigot and seemed to get decent coverage. Contemplating in its worth investing in this style. Everyone seems to use them.
@RootedLawnCo
@RootedLawnCo 3 жыл бұрын
Precision, build, saves money in watering with some heads and cheaper to buy a head than impacts. You have more ability to adjust a fine mist or 25’+ stream with a nice rain curtain. The impacts tend to get “stuck” often (at least the few I have used) I personally like these better than impacts after I tried them. All my opinion. Hope that answered your question.
