Great video. Did the same wall, and caulked it all up, and wood filled the edges where boards meet. Great diy project, and wife is happy is what matters lol 😆

Best carpentry-cinematic youtuber out there. Job well done Mr. Jared. Lowes/Home Depot.... do sell the 1x2 (aka 1.5" wide trim) either primed mdf or primed pine. "Sometimes" it's cheaper to buy it like that, rather than ripping down that 1x4. Plus avoiding the extra mess and time, that primer they use is nasty to get everywhere. Speaking of mess, I envy your install in a construction environment, letting the dust go as it pleases lol Dope video!!!! really enjoyed your musical treat at the very end.
@TMPK Жыл бұрын
I never thought about not letting the dust go. I guess most people have to control it one way or another 😂 I hate it. I’m wearing a mask more and more these days cause it’s getting in my brain 🧠
@GageRobinson Жыл бұрын
Definitely protect that brain lol. The majority of what I do for carpentry are these feature walls. The new home market here in AZ is insanely busy, so most of my clients are folks who just moved into their new build with all their new furniture. So I'm tarping and taping everything off, multiple shop vacs, it's a production to keep things looking like I never entered the building. Nacho Libre Voice "Itz tha beeest.. i luv it"

@@ahmedalsanea6079 damn. I cut my thumb pretty good with a razor knife and they decided it was clean enough to glue it back. Well that came unglued in about a day and it healed all weird and also numb to the touch. I wonder how many carpenters have numb spots on their hands 😂

What kind of wood did you use and size of nails and you done a good job 👍 and how long it did it take you
@TMPK Жыл бұрын
The wood is mdf, the nails are 16 gauge 2 inch, probably took me 2 hours. Sometimes it takes a lot longer when I video the process.

Would you then use filler over the nail heads and caulk? Then a final sand?
@TMPK Жыл бұрын
Probably something like that. I’m no expert when it comes to painting. I might use a bondo or wood filler for the nail holes. Then caulk, then maybe use one of those foam sanding blocks.

Love your stuff man! I'll be making a partition wall for my new workshop in a few months. Can't wait to do this. You are inspiration, quantified. But God, either stop using MDF, or wear a mask dude. MDF is as nasty as my ex
@djmadmike23 Жыл бұрын
Are you putting caulk or spackle between the walls and edges before painting?
@TMPK Жыл бұрын
I’m sure the painters do that. Caulk would be the way to go.
