Gordon Eastman and Jack O'Connor were two heroes of mine as a teenager of the 1960's dreaming of hunting in the North. I've been able to do it 9 times thanks to those two.

In 1986 or so, I was 18ish. My dad borrowed 2 of Gordon’s VHS tape’s. One on fishing and the other on hunting. I about wore those tapes out. Lot of your videos are the same footage, I love it! Thanks for sharing.

I like to see all these old films and photos of the days back when people went hunting to go hunt, and carried just what it took to get the job done and not a boxcar load of toys People today get "bored" and need to be entertained every waking moment, as if being out in God's wilderness isn't the finest entertainment you can get. I never could figure being "bored " while hunting or fishing or camping. Thanks for the video

This is my favorite series on KZbin! As a kid growing up in Oroville,WA we didn't have but 2 t.v. channels on the old rabbit ear antennae system but every Saturday my dad would rent one of Gordon's movies on VHS and that's what drove me to a lifetime of chasing mule deer, elk and sheep. Thank you Mike for showing some of this old footage that you have and sharing these great stories.

@@BlazedTrailsForgotten Thank you for replying… I’ve hunted British Columbia a couple of times years back but it was from watching your show and a few of jack brittinghams that inspired me to do this. Moments in life I’ll never forget. New Brunswick Canada

Awesome video, what an adventure that would be. That's really cool they took the heads to Jack O Connor to have measured! Did you ever get to meet him? I've shot a lot of bucks with my 270 win and I've always loved his quote "if the hunter does his part the 270 will not let him down."

I hadn't heard of the Eastmans/Gordon until after the turn of the century. I knew about Jack O"Connor & Fred Bear from reading magazines. I missed out! Gordon Eastman was certainly on par with those two and many other hunting celebrities of that day!

Mike: I am a big fan of your father and enjoyed his videos that I watched years ago. I seem to remember some of that footage was from his video in which he traveled the Alcan Highway with Ed Parisol (Not Sure Of The Spelling Of His Name) and went past broken down abandoned military vehicles on the side of the road. I remember the flat tire that they had to change. Was that from his video "Hunting The Northwest Territory"?
