The owners probably been dreaming of doing the slab in his yard for 30 years and David comes in and completes the dream to perfection, I know that's how I felt when I finally poured mine, not everybody has the money to get quality work but its worth it in the end if you can find good honest people.

I fully understand that quality work costs money. What I find where I live; on the east coast, is that it's impossible to get anyone to quote a job. It seems like unless you're ready to tell the contractor to do the job they won't give you a quote.

You're absolutely right. Took my dad 40 years before finally pouring his dream patio. He never had the money and didn't trust contractors anyway. Took a lot of research to find trustworthy people.

Hey Mr. Odell, those city guys were pouring some kind of mixture in to a mold for traffic dividers and guess what! After they removed the molds, they put blankets on the concrete and put a sprinkler on them to keep them wet. When i asked them if they knew what they were doing they said that the wet blankets aren't just for stopping fun from happening but they also help prevent cracking. So i have thought long and hard about everything you learnt me and then i thought super long and super duper hard about the city guys and i think I started to get my head wrapped around this cracking thing... I think it might have something to do with the water and the volume it has and how there's less of it when it dries out which i think makes the concrete shrink and crack!

Fiberglass infused concrete is a good idea. It would probably solve a lot of cracking issues over thermal expansion in weather. What I find a little strange is the seems you cut in only at the surface? In all concrete work I have seen the seam is all the way through. So what purpose is achieved by only cutting it in at the surface and not poured in sets creating the seem in between each section?
