CAN YALL STOP BLAMING BOX COLOR?! I beg of you. The last box I used is what got me my desired color! 🤪🤪 Not any of the Sally’s toners or blue shampoo! Bleaching virgin hair is actually what causes orange tones. Warm color is what gets lifted LAST. Thank you so much!

I have a hair update. I was so scared, terrified actually, half way through I was like OMG what did I do but I stuck with it. It took me days I could only do one section at a time as I had banding for a section I switched dye and used Clairol. Which the bleach uncovered. So I'd have to rinse, then reapply strategically. In the end. I'm in love with my hair. I used 40 vol with blondme in small sections. I did not achieve a light blond because I was going from years of black 4N but I'm very happy. I went to Sallys and the girls there thought I got it done at the salon. Woo hoo! Team Fabulous. 😘

Hey beautiful! Hairstylist here!!! So the color you had it before 12:00 min, was actually really pretty!! Sooo just some loving advice! So the toners will only work on the level that they are at. Your hair was only lifted to a level 7 so the level 9-10 blonde toners you were trying weren’t doing much. I would suggest you tone AT a level 7 and and if you are trying to counteract orangey tones, the opposite of orange on the color wheel is blue! So you would most likely want to look for a “7AB” which stands for a level 7.. ash blue! I hope this helps! I am happy to help a diy sis any time! The end results were gorgeous, I think my advice may just help save you some steps in the future!❤️❤️

Ugh I just do NOT like mushroom brown ashy tones on my skin tone. I knew I would hate it. I figured the first box toner wouldn’t do anything bc it was too light. Since I’m a diy channel, I know that’s what my viewers would go for first. So I just wanted to show it wouldn’t work haha. The t11 did sort of work on the lightest parts but again I haaaated the color. I’ve been told by professionals in another video to use a demi color to tone. Which is what I used before the 12:00 mark and it worked. Also at the end. The only thing is I just used a box dye on my ends bc that’s what I had lol it also worked! The demi in my roots definitely saved this look! && thank you so much for the advice!! ♥️♥️ I’m sure it will help me and a whole bunch of other girls trying to diy this! 🥰🥰

I love that you are being very kind in offering advice. I watched another video about toning orange brassy tones in brunette hair and she was using Wella Color Charm 5/71. I’m assuming the numbers are different for professional lines than they are for DIYers. It really is confusing but your comment was very enlightening. 😊

For those who are trying this at home with darker hair: I recommend using 20 volume developer with your bleach and then leaving on for 30 minutes, then if it's still not even close to your desired level, reapply with fresh bleach and then leave on for the remainder of the time. If you're looking for a brighter level, you have to lift passed level 7 to avoid very brassy hair. Also if you have previously dyed your hair with demi or permanent color, it will take longer to remove those pigments from the hair in comparison to virgin hair. I have level 5 hair and have learned the hard way that low and slow developing is the safest way to go😊❤️

I admire your bravery to bleach your own hair! You started so well, I was so impressed with how you sectioned everything and it looked so well blended. I think you should just have bleached it a 2nd time, ONLY the previously bleached sections. It went back orange because you bleached bathed ALL your hair, including the black not previously bleached, no sectioning was done. I think it went wrong with all those box colors. It was too orange to tone. I love your dedication and you never gave up. You go girl!
@DeanndraNunnery2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I thought about sectioning and bleaching again. My only concern was the health and integrity of my hair. I decided on a bleach bath because it is way less harsh. I didn’t section because it has a shampoo consistency and it would have bled anyway. As I mentioned my hair had previous bleach and damage. Yes, it was orange but it also was still healthy ish and not breaking off or falling out. The boxes weren’t the issue honestly 🤣 the last one was what got my desired color. It was more so the bleach bath and Sally’s toners that made my hair turn crazy. I don’t get the hate people have for box color? Also, hair is never too orange to tone. It about using the opposite colors on the color wheel. I just chose a demi color that I didn’t like at first. It was clearly toned with the first demi color I used.

My fiancée who lives in colombia, just dyed/ bleached her hair to have blonde highlights. But the stylist got in her roots and didn't do it right so now she had orange hair or close to it. We have a wedding in two weeks. Her hair is very dry and there's not a lot of hope until I find your video here. You're is the closest example to her problem. I sent her this video. I hope it gives her some hope she is mad and devastated. She was thinking about coloring it brown again to cover it up but the earliest delivery for ordering her toner would fall on the day before the wedding. So she has to either get a wig(which I don't want her to do but I understand) or go to the hair store. But idk what they have in stores in her country. There's no a lot and they're expensive for her. I'm flying down there in two weeks. I'm hoping I can help her find something fast. I like what you did here but all of the porridge you used in this video are from Amazon. Can any of this stuff be found in stores easily available? They don't have Walmart and targets lol. They do have dollar generals and dollar city and high end stylist stores in the nice malls. What should she do to rescue her hair? I like the idea of you using the dark paste on the roots and touching up on the ends to be brighter.

Hello Deanndra. I have seen that many stylists use the blondme toner in the mix of the bleach with blondme lightener. Do you think you can do it next time?

HI Love - I am confused on the last few minutes of the video - Will you outline what you ended up using (looks like toner all over - but you did not like the outcome , what would you replace it with?- Then the gold highlights, then the root bath? Do you have a list of the "loved" ingredients I can buy from your links - I can not tell the order + what you would change...Cheers xox

Not me taking notes and then scratching them all out in every stage and outcome lol but THANK YOU for showing the entire process to learn what trial and error looks like. Videos nowadays look too simple

😂 I do have a couple of other video where the process was much easier! The main thing I did wrong was not picking the right Demi color at first.
