I used some 600mm extrusion and round bar for this and then used a 10w creality kit that is used with the 3dprinters seems like its working glued on some limit switches everything is moving I have about a 450x460 usable area with the current setup. still need to test to quality. For anyone else attempting this keep in mind going bigger than 400 could lead to your rods starting to flex because of how long they are, if you want something larger you would need to use some rollers on a vslot rail instead of the rods.

Friends, my problem was caused by the motherboard. I solved the problem with the Mks dlc v2.1 motherboard. My advice to my friends who are going to do this is to use a metal bracket instead of a T bracket, the skeleton becomes tight due to the tension of the straps. Try to run the parts you will remove from the 3D printer at 100% full capacity and low speed. In my case, the parts broke and did not fit properly. I hope he did the translation job correctly and thanks to the project owner, a great effort was made.

What is the working area? Would a 400x400mm honeycomb bed fit in this engraver? Looks easy to modify if not. I really like this design with the two y axis motors.
@bitofelectronics

the engraving area is about 240x240 mm but you can easliy make it bigger by just using longer aliminium profiles and smooth rods.

Very straightforward. Rather than goggles would it be better to have a cover for the engraver?

Yes you are right having a cover is much better, and if it covers the entire engraver it can also help prevent any unpleasant smells.

Hello, you can try LightBurn it's a paid software, but it comes with a free trial and is more advanced than LaserGRBL. There are also options like T2Laser and Benbox, but I haven't used those. My experience is mostly with LaserGRBL 🙂

@@bitofelectronics thankyou for your reply 😊, but my issue resolved after replacing with a new step driver. i have one question. As we do our engraving or cutting projects via connecting a pc to engraver with usb, but sometimes there are some designs like images which take a long time like 2-4 hrs to engrave in good quality. is there any way to use my engraver offline by sending direct g-code to engraver via SD card / PENDRIVE so that my computer would not be running idle for straight hours? if there is an upgrade with this Arduino CNC to add a display controller and a micro SD / PENDRIVE module to achieve above task please tell, it will be thankful a lot for your help! 😊

where can i get laser module used in this video ? i found the laser module online which says 20 watt laser module with 4watt optical power, is it the same as used in this video? what is the highest watt optical power laser module i can use with the electronic components used in this video ? if i want to use higher power laser module like 10-30w do i need to change all the electronic components or only the power supplier ?
@bitofelectronics

Hello, I bought my laser from here (the black one) : tr.aliexpress.com/item/3256802965524796.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.18753d12r5OXyC&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt You can use more powerful lasers, but a 20-watt laser with a 4-watt optical output power is more than enough for engraving paint. :) For more powerful laser modules, upgrading the power supply will be sufficient. You don't need to change anything else. However, the holes on the part that carries the laser are specifically made for the laser in the link. Since it's made out of plastic, drilling it to fit another laser will be easy, or you can edit the files I shared according to your laser.

@@bitofelectronics thankyou for your heartwarming reply ☺️ Can you please also tell me what kind of material, infill quality & nozzle type is enough to make the parts from 3d printer you used in this to hold the machine & parts and do not bend or break? This will help me a lot. Actually my purpose is for engraving as well as for cutting thick acrylic or wood from 3mm to 10mm so which laser power should i use? Or this 4watt optical power is enough to cut and pass through the object, can it engrave on a metal piece also ? Please also guide me, will it effect my arduino and other electric components if i use high power laser module ? I want to make my machine durable and long lasting, i made it earlier on my own then my custom made cnc shield pcb board blew after some time of use, is arduino durable & used cnc shield has enough strength to handle the load? Also should i use genuine arduino from italy version or the clone is okay to go ?
@bitofelectronics
@bitofelectronics Ай бұрын
Well, I printed my parts with a 0.6 mm nozzle, 0.3 mm layer height, and 50% infill and they’re still standing to this day. 10 mm wood or 10 mm acrylic is very thick for this 4-watt optical output laser, and I don't think it can engrave metal pieces. For tasks like these, you’d need a much more powerful laser, like a CO2 laser.Maybe you should get something more professional and powerfull like these The laser power input is directly connected to the PSU, and the only part of the laser that connects to the Arduino is the PWM signal carrier cable. That cable carries very little current, so using a high-power laser won’t affect your Arduino or GRBL shield. Using a clone Arduino is fine there’s no significant difference from the original. Maybe you should get something more professional and powerful like these if you're planning to earn money from it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZmcdGl8ebKWmNU www.alibaba.com/product-detail/4060-9060-1080-1310-RuiDa-80W_1600467717932.html?spm=a2700.7724857.0.0.22d51a0dpq9Aqm

Will it work with 80 watt.laser moudle as well ? Need any change in code? Can you also send or explain the ardouino flash grbl ? And are there stepper limits in the project ?
@bitofelectronics
@bitofelectronics 7 ай бұрын
Yes, you can use an 80 watt module, but you need to upgrade the power supply. You don't have to change anything in the code. You can flash GRBL via the LaserGRBL program (as shown in the video). You can copy my settings that I showed at 9:25. I'm assuming you are also asking about limit switches; I did not use any in my design, so you have to manually home the laser, but it's very easy.

@@vlvulong5200 Well I don't really know much about NodeMCU and other WiFi-related stuff, but I think we can use a Raspberry Pi (or a Banana Pi,Orange Pi, etc.). We can then connect the Arduino to this Raspberry Pi and remotely control it via VNC Viewer, as long as both devices are connected to the same WiFi network.

how can the thickness of the working material be adjusted and would the laser module be able to cut whole the way through 3mm MDF wood? lastly, I like your work man keep going
@bitofelectronics
@bitofelectronics 4 ай бұрын
First of all, thanks for the support :) . Regarding cutting 3mm MDF wood, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm unsure if the 4W power is sufficient(It says '4Watt' on the label, but since it's made in China, we can never be certain if it's truly 4Watt or something less powerful :D )Choosing a more powerful laser might be a better option. As for adjusting the thickness of the material, every time we change the material's thickness, we need to readjust the focus. The store on AliExpress, where I bought the laser, mentions in the description that 'the best cutting distance is 50mm' for this specific laser. (here is the link for the laser module: www.aliexpress.com/item/3256802965524796.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.18753d12r5OXyC&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt )

@bitofelectronics 4 ай бұрын
If you want to cut materials with different thicknesses, adjusting the focus can be time consuming. I recommend purchasing a fixed-focus laser and adjusting the laser module's height. However, in my design, the laser module's height is not adjustable, it's fixed. I've shared the CAD files, so you can either customize the part where the laser sits or find a different design online if you prefer to use fixed-focus laser modules.
