DIY Blackout Box: How to Prepare for Power Outages in Your Home

In this video we are going to cover the basic short term power outage and how to manage your free time, entertainment and most importantly, you and your family’s safety.
It’s not always easy in today's age to cope without modern amenities, especially when we have become so reliant on electronic stimulation for activity and entertainment. I mean, what possibly could there be to do when you lose power or worse, access to the internet?
Well, that's when it is a good idea a blackout box at home ready to go, stocked with things to help get through a short term power outage.

Boardgames, warm weather if not storming, camp fire, outdoor games, freeze tag, hide-and-seek, horseshoes, etc.( Think when we were kids) Porch swing and lemonade or tea, while the rain 🌧️ was coming down. Use your imagination there is always something to do.

people might want to consider getting pocket sized LED lamps used by bloggers & compact light stands to use them with. the idea is to extend the stands to the maximum height with the lamps shining towards the ceiling or corners of a room. some have small footprint that allows them to be placed on cabinets, TV consoles, kitchen work top, etc. variations of the lamps: - plastic or metal casing - built-in battery or external - flat rectangle shape (like smartphones), squarish or cube (mostly for action cams) - bi-colour or multi coloured - wide price range the advantages of such lamps is that 1 can use by itself as they have at least a flat side, or tap into a wide range of mounting options that the photo/videography world offers (at a price).

I being back flash aholic after making my black out kit . Lucy solar lantern. Usb desk lamps . Two portable power station. With solar panel . Thrunite t2 another thrunite t2 . Two t1s . Nite core hc 60. Ham radio , garmin inreach mini . Few cheap headlamps from Amazon

Battery Bank to keep phones charged. Something not necessarily in the box but on hand is some kind of propane camping stove if your main stove is electric. Candles.
