I always put a lug on, makes putting pads on easier if the rotor isn't flopping around

I thought you were always supposed to cut or replace rotors every time? But I haven't had a shop in a decade, so did that change?
@TheVulgarConservative Жыл бұрын
No if the rotor hasn’t been comprised, worn down past it’s minimum thickness or no vibration you can safely change the pads without needing rotors every time.

I've seen a lot of videos changing the pads along with rotors, i don't see any reason to change the rotors especially on a newer altima.
@TheVulgarConservative2 жыл бұрын
Yes if you go easy on pads and change them before it’s metal on metal, rotors can last a while. As long as they’re not too thin and don’t vibrate when braking it really is not a reason to switch them out.

@@TheVulgarConservative when is a good time to change them ? I have a 2017 versa. Is it time to change ?
@TheVulgarConservative2 жыл бұрын
@@willdondada3962 I would say anywhere from 20000 to 30000 for pads and rotors around 50000 unless you have noise coming from them. If you have noise then an inspection is warranted to see what’s causing it.
