Thanks. This is just the info I needed. Would a little anti-seize on the hub be a good idea? Having a wheel stuck to the hub could be a problem if you needed to change a flat tire on the side if the road.

I have a question, for the opposite side of the tire, should the break pads be placed with the clip on the top aswell or is it clipped in upside down?

not sure if you'll respond. But my 2019 Nissan Altima type s needs 4 near rotors and all new break pads (says the mechanic I went too). They quoted me $1,100 to have this done. Does that sound like a fair price? because after watching your video multiple times this does not seem like rocket science and I am starting to feel like they are trying to rip me off. I'm debating trying to tackle this myself.

Do you need to worry about damaging the ABS sensor when pushing in the caliper? I've ran into that with a Ford recently so now, Im paraboid about it.

Im having a lot of trouble bleeding my brakes. From what i know, you pump till its tight, hold it, loosen the bleeder whilst the other person is still holding the brake, and then tighten. What am i doung wrong?

I recently took off my rear brake drums to clean them with brake cleaner and put brake lube where the brake shoes meet the backing plate. I never adjusted them and I put everything back together as it was and torqued the wheels on. When I went to test drive it, it makes a scraping/grinding noise from the rear wheels almost like what a bad wheel bearing or what driving on flat tires would sound like. Any idea what I may have done wrong?
@RBTheMechanic
@RBTheMechanic 2 жыл бұрын
Take it apart to see signs of scraps it could be u bent the backing plate or rust on drums or backing plate just check it out and how did u grease the area did u dismount the shoes or just slightly lift them with screw driver to get the grease down there?
@tyronesmith3812
@tyronesmith3812 2 жыл бұрын
@@RBTheMechanic I did not dismount the shoes completely. I just took the lower spring off and took off the clip in the middle that holds them in place to be able to lift them just enough without taking them completely off

Looke like thenold pads were 50% compared to the new ones you put on, old ones at least 30% , some problem? It almost looked like you wire brushed the caliper rubber boot. Is it ok to wire brush those? Torque spec is a big deal to me. I'll find it elsewhere. Your bottom bolt pull off technique is very smart!
@RBTheMechanic
@RBTheMechanic Жыл бұрын
Yeah wirier brush is fine some times it’s not because of low brake pads we change some times noise or other brake issues
