Looks really good... my only concern would be the A/C over heating. I had a window unit start cycling on and off when the temp was over 100 a week or so ago. It's not covered, just was so hot outside. Just something to keep an eye on. Also the A/C needs a little tilt to allow water to run out but it appears it has some tilt.

Yes, it does have a tilt. I have it installed inside that box where the front of the unit sits about 1.5” higher than the rear of the unit.

@@BrianWatersOutdoors It appeared to have the tilt but sometimes camera angles can be confusing. Just saw the last video, looks great. Built with better frame than factory campers. Most of them are built with 2x2 not 2x4.. at least one I am familiar with which is about 5 years old.

It’s looking good. That little ac unit should freeze ya out as well it’s insulated.

That’s my goal! As many times that I’ve woken up in the middle of the night stuck to my air mattress while tent camping….I’ll take being freezing ALL DAY!

Great work! Might want to toss on some safety goggles next time you're cutting metal.

Just a thought now, but aren’t the 2x4s 1 1/2 thick? If you use 1 1/2 thick foam and glue it top and bottom you could use 1/4 plywood and there would be no give. I know, doesn’t matter now. Just wondering if there was a reason.
@BrianWatersOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yes, I could have done that as well

How you think a mini split would work, in that application, instead of a window unit?
@BrianWatersOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
It “should”. I don’t have any experience with a mini split, but as long as you can route the ducting and get power to the unit it should be fine….in my opinion.

That's a great job of sealing the ac unit. My question is did you plan how to change it out when it fails? I did similar in a sunroom wall, but have a hard time finding the same dimensions on a replacement unit. Looking good though.
@BrianWatersOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, thought about that. I can remove the trim pieces on the front and pull the unit out from the outside the way I designed it. I also went out and bought a second unit to keep in storage just in case this one fails on me.

Hey man, i’ve been watching your square drop build, great job btw! I was wondering what the height is?
@BrianWatersOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
It’s just under 8’ from the ground to tallest point of roof.
