This must be the first van conversion I've seen that has zero mistakes. I've seen better-looking ones (even though this looks fine to me) but with huge mistakes (bad insulation choices, wrong sealant on the roof vents, poor electrics choices, etc). This one is truly flawless. Good job. Guys, if you are watching this, feel confident to copy everything this guy has done because everything was done right.

cheers my man! if you’ve done a build yourself you know but for me - every single thing that went on the van was a result of perhaps many hours of research to get the right parts. there are a few mistakes here and there but for the most part I’ve solved them all now. thanks a lot appreciate it. need to find the time to build another van!

Great job mate, love your electrical panel, very neat, I was horrified at so many videos where the electrics looked like a bus load of ADHD kids have gone mental in a spaghetti factory, so much so I’ve decided to use a 3100 ah power station system with the charge controller and inverter built in, just the fuse box and hey presto, can be powered by alternator, solar and shore power, my ride will be a VW T4 LWB, when she comes back from the garage hopefully engine sorted, nasty bits welded, sealed, new suspension, hopefully a bare canvass ready for the build, thanks for your video picked up a couple of tips.

sweet sounds like a great build!! I figured making it neat makes it easier to sort any problems if they exist! so far no problems - currently on a month trip in Europe and no issues what so ever 🤣🤣 I am electricity heavy now running fridge freezer fans all the usual chargers but the solar is really earning its keep!!!

Hi great vlog. To help us fellow van builders could you post where you bought your items from? Especially the furniture. Thanks mate
@richard_builds_it9 ай бұрын
of course I’m currently doing the NC500 - so will update when I get home but all the furniture and the floor came from the theplyguys.co.uk based in Scotland. they also did the install and it looks so good.

Sorry for the mega late reply! Go check thier website out. I think for the kitchen unit it was £900 the bedding unit eith the two pull out drawers out thr back was about £1600 the floor was £500 and the cusions were about £500. With fitting it was just sjy of aboit £3800 all in i think.

That much sound deadening is way too much and prob doubled the weight..tidy though 👍

nah a box is like 10Kg max or the heavy stuff and the cloud looking insulation weighs jack sht. the massive win is that the van is DEAD quiet at night it’s actually amazing.

Hi there , Do you have the measurements for the ceiling panel you installed, on another video you mentioned what a pain it was as you have to keep trimming , I’m currently converting my LWB and would be helpfull if could share aprox measurements to help save me time . Thanks
@richard_builds_it3 ай бұрын
yeah sure thing let me check it tomorrow and get back to you. what ever you do don’t use 12mm ply 🤣🤣🤣 I reckon 6 would be okay depending on the thickness of the batons you use.
@678diego13 ай бұрын
Thanks 👍
@richard_builds_it3 ай бұрын
Right got them. It’s 245cm long by 151cm wide. but make sure to check the measurements. I bought a non standard sheer and had it cut to size but still had to trim it which was a pain. And I know I already mentioned but don’t use 12mm thick ply it’s far too heavy haha. Perhaps 6/9 but it’s your choice.
@678diego13 ай бұрын
You are a legend , thanks for f the measurements, Agee I will probably go with the 6mm …I will let you know how I get on

Very nice conversion. I've Renault trafic 2019 lwb. Did you have to raise drivers seat for heater. As it doesn't look like I've got enough height under mine
@richard_builds_it6 ай бұрын
Yeah for sure - if you check out the seat instal video i think i make refrence to it - and also in the finishing touches video. I have used two spacers - and one of them is 40mm xox section i ordered online. You have to make sure you use crash rated bolts etc - do you own research on the requirements.
