Nice. Is any part of it particle board? Are there any other things that would need to off-gas? What is the tube for the water jug made from, and is there any smell/taste to it? Thanks!
@zachyeager7320 Жыл бұрын
Hello Blueviolet. There is no particle board in our Kitchen Pod or anything we make. Particle board is bad idea is anything that is designed to go down the road as the bumps will eventually break it apart. There isn't anything I have heard with our Kitchen Pods that needs to off-gas. Water jug is BPA free plastic. Like any plastic you will get a little smell from it if you are sensitive. In my experience I only notice a plastic smell if water has been in the bottle for more than a couple of weeks.

Hi, you have a fantastic product. Can you tell me the make of the water containers. I'm having difficulty finding them in the uk
@cascadecampers6 ай бұрын
They are US military spec water cans that are made by a couple of different manufactures. A quick look and it appears that the UK spec cans are different with a smaller lid. It's the big lid that allows us to install the submersible pump inside the tank. I'm sure there is some place that will ship you one of these to the UK. The brand we use is SCEPTER but there are other brands that build to the same spec.

This is a cool idea and a well-thought-out design. That said, I have a few little questions: I'm curious why you decided to go with a drawer so much wider than the stove.Would a cubby with neatly fitting plastic tray/bin add too much expense? Or is there extra functionality you've found in having open drawer space next to a stove? (I wonder if how much you'd have to charge for an optional add-on sink cover that could also stand on little peg legs over the exposed drawer contents?) No round corners on the fold-out board? (I can almost already hear myself cussing over finding one of those sharp corners when I wasn't looking.) By any chance, is the space between the back of the stove and the back of the drawer big enough to fit a butane canister?
@cascadecampers3 жыл бұрын
Hello Evelyn, I appreciate your well thought out questions. The reason for the wider drawer versus a cubby is about drawer space being more space efficient and usable than cubby space. You can fit a lot more stuff and more easily find stuff if you are able to look down on it versus fishing around for it from a small opening in the front. Your point on the corners of the cutting board is a very good one and I am going to incorporate that into the design going forward. The space behind the stove isn't big enough for an extra butane canister.

Do you make pods for a Promaster City micro van? The 36 inch height is too high for the micro van.
@zachyeager7320 Жыл бұрын
Hello Lori, we don't make a pod for micro vans. The challenge is with a micro-van anything has to be made super specific for the model and layout due to doors, wheel wells, and other things that are in the way. In a micro-van you have very little space to work with and you want to use it as efficiently as possible. In larger vans they have larger areas of flat walls and floors that allow for a more universal fit cabinet like our Kitchen Pod.

Hi Zach! Just bought a new PM City wagon and am doing a simple set up. Already have the flooring in, and since it is the wagon version, there is insulation and ceiling stuff, etc. My simple, 23 inch wide bed/couch is there....but I am toying with the idea of a little kitchen unit like yours. Glad to see it is "ala carte!" If I were to make an appointment and drive to your Nevada City location, would it be an extra charge to install it? I don't have the skills to install and wanted to check. Thanks! - Piano Girl from Colorado
@zachyeager73202 жыл бұрын
Hello Piano girl from Colorado! The Kitchen Pod we sell "ala carte" is designed more for bigger vans. The Promaster City is quite small and the cabinet that is part of our standard build-out is super-optimized for that van. This is in contrast to our Kitchen Pod that is designed to be a more universal fit but for vans that are a little bit bigger. Our Kitchen Pod works much better in a van with mostly flat wall without wheel wells in the way like they are in the Promaster City.

What battery pack is recommended and is compatible?
@ellevanroamer4873 жыл бұрын
Zach, Would your company ever consider installing it if a customer is driving up there to pick it up instead of having it shipped? It might complicate the easy sale of this very cool kitchen, so I would understand if the answer is no. On the other Handif am picking it up in my blank slate of a van, why not install too.
@cascadecampers3 жыл бұрын
Hello Elle, In general the answer is no as we just aren't setup as a company to do custom work on the fly. We make make a couple of exceptions to this so that we can make videos showing how to install the Kitchen Pod in different vehicles. That also brings up the fact that if you or anyone else were to make a video and post it showing your own installation we would give you a sizable discount on the cost of your Kitchen Pod.

Not DIY is it?
@zachyeager7320 Жыл бұрын
Point taken. The pod itself isn't DIY as it comes fully assembled. We call it DIY as it is a component that you would install into a van conversion you are doing yourself. This is in contrast to the full van conversions we do in RAM Promaster City vans.
