@@KateCarew the ratio she used was 1 part cinnamon to 48 parts sugar, that amount of cinnamon WOULDN'T show up in the taste OR appearance. The most common ratio is 1 part cinnamon to 3 parts sugar.

I thought that too :D When I use a cinnamon sugar mix for rice pudding (I guess that's the right translation) it turns brown. Same goes for cristmas markets and the Crêpes you can get there... Looks like brown sugar so much cinnamon is in it 😋

This reminds me of something we called scrabble when i was a child. We cooked sliced hot dogs in baked bbq beans adding diced onions,cut corn, brown sugar, catsup and mustard. It was very tasty. At 63 i still simmer up a pot a couple times a year.
