My mom loves when I make her strawberry fruit sandwiches. Strawberries and whipped cream are her favorite but she didn’t like the idea of it on bread. She tried it though and really likes it now :) For me they taste best on sweeter white breads like Hawaiian bread.

In a lot of supermarkets now you can find loaves of brioche cut like white bread. That would be the best bet IMO. I'm no fan of whipped cream to be honest though but since its mixed with mascarpone that might be ok. I do like cream cheese and strawberry sandwiches though on brioche or potato bread.
@sonogabri14 жыл бұрын
Yo are addicted to sugar.
@caemartin80324 жыл бұрын
These aren't meant to be replacements for a meal, they're a treat. And they're much lighter on sugar and carbs than cakes or pies or cookies, so it makes a healthier alternative while still satisfying a craving for a lot of ppl. That encourages people to eat healthier instead of giving up bc standard diet desserts or quitting desserts entirely are joyless and unpleasant to them. These are really helpful for a "sugar addiction," actually.
@2GoatsInATrenchCoat4 жыл бұрын
@@caemartin8032 As a diabetic who counts carbs, I would actually say that that's not necessarily true. Many people conflate sugar, calories, and carbohydrates, but carbs and calories can easily stack up in things like this without people realizing because it doesn't feel like a "dessert." Assuming you're eating the whole sandwich, there's about 40 carbs in two slices of bread this size (give or take) and then about 10-20 carbs in the fruit (strawberries have very little; oranges, grapes, and mangoes have a lot). The whipped cream/mascarpone with sugar adds maybe 7 carbs...altogether I'd estimate about 60-65 carbs for one of these sandwiches. That's the same amount of carbs you'd get in a reasonable slice of pie or cake. Yes, you get some fiber from the fruit in this, but white bread has virtually no nutrients and there's very little fruit in these sandwiches. They're very pretty and I think Emmy's talented, so no hate! I just urge people to not confuse stuff with less sugar as being low carb or healthier by default.

The funny thing is that a slice of shokupan is STILL bigger than a slice of Texas toast, they're all about BIG BREAD in Japan 🤣

I always eat the skin of kiwis, but I recommend doing so when the kiwis is nice and ripe. It actually less furry after the bletting process.

So stinkin’ cute ! ! ! Am absolutely going to make these!!! Living in a small, coastal town in B. C., Canada, it is impossible to purchase the proper bread without having to take 2 ferries and a whole day, from early morning to early evening, with all the ensuing costs, to find a source of the proper bread. I was VERY relieved when you said the Texas Toast worked well. THAT we DO have here, in the grocery stores. So, making these will be a definite choice when needing to take something to a “tea party” or to offer when someone comes over. Thank you for this (and all) your videos. By-the-way - I do believe that the cheese is MAS-caR-pon-é - not maRs-ca-poné. I only use the accented “e” to indicate that it is pronounced somewhat like the French language version. In Italian, I believe it is more an “eh” than an “ay”. Anyway, I feel you are a woman who appreciates attention to detail and that is why I thought I would draw your attention to this small one. Love your channel and always come away from watching with a smile and a lifting of my spirit. God bless you. 👵🏻🐾💕🇨🇦

I always wash my kiwis and eat them like apples, it's the best when they're a little more ripe so the skin is softer:)

13:16 into this video: They really look awesome together. Yes, I agree, my favourite is the orange one and the strawberry is a close second. Well done. The other three actually look really good when they are all together. And the grape is a close forth actually, the mango is looking really good now that I see it again. 😀👏😎💜🇺🇲💚❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🍊🍓🥭🍇🥝
