When will you be doing the electroforming video using method B? I've tried PVA, alcohol, and water-based acrylic but they're all trash. That solvent acrylic looks very promising.

Can we make using combination of chemicals, combining wet alkaline compound from 1.5v cell and lithium from lithium cell , add epoxy or acrylic or any other glue, I think conductivity improves.

can we electroplating silver over graphite? or its necessary to copper it first?
@dollarbutt2 жыл бұрын
Anything conductive is fine. Nickel, silver, copper plating etc. will work fine with graphite. More conductive paint just might work better/quicker.

I would have thought conductive paste might be useful, the paste used on heat sink to component. just need a drying agent to be added.

It would appear that quite a few people commenting on this channel are missing the key word that best describes what is being presented. That word is "Conductive" Anything that is conductive allows something to travel along it, or through it, without much resistance. In this case we are talking about electricity. The more conductive a material is, the lower is its resistance to electricity travelling along or through it. When the subject is EMF, which is a form of radiation, is being explored, conductivity is bad, resistance is good. This is because most times, EMF is something you don't want reaching you. So in this case the greater is the resistance of a material, the harder it is for radiation to travel along or through the material and reach you.

Can this be used for electroplating plastic objects?
@DIYbama Жыл бұрын
Yes, of course
@TheStigma8 ай бұрын
Yea, but you need to follow the general rules of painting plastics. Some plastics have very low surface energy (similar to teflon) and paint has troble sticking. General rule of thumb is that if the plastic is heavier than water (sinks) it can be painted without too much problem. Floating plastics like the common HDPE and PP need flame treatment - otherwise you can expect bad finish and delamination. In all cases a light sanding is recommended for good adhesion.

now be a good boy and tell everyone the truth, when it dried it lost its conductivity so all you lot failing isnt you just buy it :) most paints and binders expand when dry you need one that shrink so i say easier to buy isnt it, time you spend buying paints/graphite/carbon even making nanoparticles using chemistry you still end up with 0

Wrong! ohm measurment represents resistance. The higher the resistance the poorer it is for use as a conductor. However high resistance conductors are great at producing heat. The filament in your bread toaster is a good example of a material with high resistance value.
