@louisd957142 ай бұрын
Nice video, but I have read and seen when gluing the table top, the clamps are supposed to alternate between over and under the wood parts. Also, I have read and seen that when arranging the table top, to make sure that the grains alternate between them, because it would avoid swelling of the wood. (Not sure if done that wa or not in your video). But for clarity, I am not a wood worker. I am just interested in the craft.

Nice man! I just used your video to make my own. I'm stuck at the washers for attaching the top. I didn't find the screws you used so mine stick up so I'd need a hole on the bottom of the top for that to work. Do u remember the name of the screws you used? And I need better bits to drill through these washers!

I actually just used pocket holes and screws to attach the top to the base. I don't remember exactly which length screw I used. I just made sure it would work before sending it. I do want to try those figure 8 washers to attach my next top though, they seem like they would work well. Thanks for watching, glad it helped inspire you!

Have a question. *NOT* a criticism. Just curious. You fasterend the top to the apron and legs with pocket hole screws. They won't allow for any wood movement of the top if humidity changes. Do you think this might be a problem down the road? I'm definitely not an expert on this stuff but am considering a build like yours and wondered about htis issue. Any thoughts?
@CCSandSonsWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
@Steve Seale that's a great point, thanks for asking. I live in an area that does not get significant humidity swings. I thought about using the typical table top hardware, but thought I would try this technique and see how it held up. So far no problems. Thanks for watching!
