My crates were 17 1/4" L x 14 1/4" W x 10 5/8" H, and your measurements were spot on!! Thank you for the video!!

I love crate seats! I also use some plastic from the fabric store to staple over the fabric. It makes it so much easier to clean them and keep them looking nice year to year :)
@AClassroomDiva7 жыл бұрын
Wow! Such a great idea!!! I may have to go ahead and add that to mine because the kiddos are obsessed with them and they use them all the time in the classroom! :) Having plastic would definitely help so I don't have to make new ones for next year!!!
@ashleywilson35297 жыл бұрын
Just make sure to get thicker plastic. I used the thinnest plastic first because it is easier to manipulate, but it is also easier for the little ones to poke through and rip. This year I used the thicker plastic and they are holding up great :)

Can you please tell me what the open dimensions of your crate are? It looks like the ones from Walmart this year are about 17 inches, so I'm trying to calculate the adjustment for the particle board. Thank you for the tutorial and your help! :)

Hello, I just discovered your channel on KZbin via ROKU. What a cute, easy and fun project. Simplicity is the key. I wish I still had my daycare business. The kids would’ve loved this. Great for outdoors too. Super job. Now a subscriber.

How much weight do you think these could hold? I teach upper elementary, but I'm worried that they might be too big for these. I'd love it if they would work!
@AClassroomDiva7 жыл бұрын
They hold my hubby just fine and he is 200 lbs! :) The upper elem kiddos will be just fine, just make sure the wood goes over the lip of the crates. If you get the exact measurements of wood/crates, they should work! :)

A Classroom Diva the guy at Home Depot didn't want to cut the wood for me since he said he didn't think these would hold a second grader
@AClassroomDiva7 жыл бұрын
Wow! Mine definitely are holding up just fine and are still super sturdy. :) My almost 4th grader and her friends use them all the time in the playroom.

Great tutorial! I've been inspired!!! I do have a question???? How tall are these seats? I'm thinking of adding some type of "legs" or possibly casters depending on the "tallness" Thanks!!!!

I made them and they are adorable. The problem is the tops will fall into the crate and they are to short. I am not sure how I could fix them😭😣
@miamolina58725 жыл бұрын
If they're too small I'd just flip the crate over and put the cushions on the other side. They'd lose the storage bonus, but you'd still have the cushions as useable

Those who teach our children should use proper English. At 2:24, you say your pads need to "lay" nicely. This is incorrect. It should be to "lie." Please review the difference between "to lay" and "to lie" and teach their proper use. We must preserve our language. And those crate seats are adorable. What a fantastic idea!
