As I say at the end of this video, I am well aware that many people have made videos like this. The reason I made this video is because I want something to post, I want to grow with youtube, I want to be able to look back in a few years and see how my life looks now. And I also want people that come to my channel with no knowledge of crested gecko keeping/breeding to be able to know the easiest and most simple way to keep baby geckos.
If you think this is cruel you probably don't own crested gecko babies. Crested gecko babies grow faster and better in small enclosures where they find their food faster and more easily. Not only that, but paper towels helps you keep track of their poop, which can answer basic questions such as "have they eaten?" or more complex questions regarding their health.
I do support bioactive over plastic tubs, however bioactive also comes with its complications. I have geckos with bioactive set ups and unfortunately mites have made their way in, I've spent over 10 hours in a span of 2 days cleaning enclosures and I only have 9 geckos now.
I try to aim for naturalistic enclosures with fake plants, mulch, and lots of hides that resemble their natural habitat but are in fact plastic. However, as you could expect, babies outgrow their tanks fast so we go simple for growing geckos and we complicate their tanks more as they grow.
Thank you for watching,
Diego
