Cool idea. You should try out paint pens for writing on wood.

+Just Make It Thanks, man. Yeah, the sharpie bled after I sprayed it with a clear coat (not shown on video). I ended up using a fine tip brush and acrylic paint (again, after I taped the video). Do you have any recommendations on paint pens?

I use the Sharpie brand paint pens on my growth charts now simply because that's what the local art store sells, but I like them. I just like the paint pens because you can put a clear over top of them or even do a light clear coat first for overly porous wood (to prevent bleeding), use the paint pen and then finish with more clear.
