Thank You Sir for this Video. I just fixed my 17 year old Maytag Dryer because of the switch. All I did was connect all 3 wires together to bypass the switch and my Dryer started right up after a week of torture. I ordered the switch and will install it so it works properly. You saved me a giant headache sir. :)

I have a very similar setup and I've had three garage door companies out to quote doing this exact project, raise the tracks, and install a side mounted opener. All three have told me different things, and all three want to turn it into a major project. I can't quite figure out why my project is so difficult than your fairly straight forward project! Turned out great.

I have the same dryer and non of this fixed it. Could it be the timer?
@fixthemthings
@fixthemthings Ай бұрын
@@chrisrobertson5852 it’s almost always the door switch due to slamming the door. Other possibility is if your vent pipe is plugged up it will cause the thermal to open. I guess sometimes it could be the timer but I’m not sure if that would be worth changing unless you actually trouble shoot it. I think they are expensive.

Thanks for the video! Left for work this morning started having issues, so I pulled over to have. A quick look. Found nothing. But wouldnt start back up. Same issues. Saved me a lot of trouble and put me on the right track. I would only add, that these trucks go into "dummy" mode(as in "hey dummy, your trying to drain your battery) if you leave the truck key on for to long. So it shuts off the power supply to save battery. So if you are working on this take the sensor off, turn the key to on, and then check your meter. Couldn't get a volt reading and thought i had major issues somewhere. Noticed that i couldnt role my windows back up and it all clicked. Redone the key to on, read just fine

"This item cannot be shipped to the delivery location you have selected. Please select a different delivery location." Is “Cameron Sino” a random supplier, or do you know that this is good quality? I can buy it with 185mAh for $12.02 plus $6.39 postage. Yellow pouch-bag cells with supposedly 520mAh from $11.62 without postage. I doubt they have 2.8x that much capacity. It's a shame that it can't be operated with an adapter. I tried it once with a micro USB to USB-C adapter and it didn't work. Now I can only use it with an old Android smartphone like a Note 4 0_o. It would be great if you could re-solder the micro USB plug to USB-C. But then it would certainly still have to work afterwards. I don't want to scrap it.

Your video was very helpful and guided me so that I could fix this myself. I knew it was probably the switch because the light had not been coming on for several weeks (but the dryer was still working until this past weekend), but I didn't know how to go about making the repair. Your video also encouraged me to go ahead and order a fuse with the switch to have it on hand because that is probably the next thing that will fail. Thank you.
