i can almost promise you are right on with the titanium white oxide because there is a "prop 65" warning on the original oxide sprays and Lindsay the frugal crafter did some research and found the chemical contained in the tim holtz sprays requiring it to be labeled with the warning was titanium dioxide, and if i am not mistaken that is what makes up your titanium white. so great job with the chemical sleuthing

Have you considered using Zinc Oxide? It is used as a white opaque pigment for paints and for painting paper. In the 18th Century Oil Paint Artists used it when they discovered that lead was bad for their health. I am considering using it as I have it on hand as it is a compound for lots of things, such as sunscreen and desitin cream or talc.

This is fantastic! I have wanted to get the distress oxides, but geez, my budget! So, I just ordered the titanium white pigment powder from earthpigments.com. Their prices are great, and I may go back for others. Thanks so much for all your work on these. You said this formula won’t work in a stamp pad, but I wonder if adding glycerin would help. I’ll try that once I get my supplies. Loved your other DIY videos on the resist spray and the micro glaze. Great job!

The web site for the oxide said you could receive it in liquid or powder form , now I have no idea what’s in the liquid form one but that could be the clue to the ink pads !? Maybe 🤔

Thanks for tip about the oxide pigment 👍🏼! I’m really enjoying watching you experimenting & learning a lot , I’ve got all my supplies together to make up some diy sprays as crafting supplies add up a lot & they are all so tempting to buy lol. So it’s great to get some tips from your experiments & I had never heard of the oxide. I was looking for it as I’m in the uk & it looks like it’s a pottery glaze pigment which doesn’t dissolve 100% , so I’m guessing a good shake each time is needed. Anyway, can’t wait to add these to my diy sprays. 👍🏼🤩

What is the gum Arabic and mica powder used for in the description for this video? It is listed but I didn’t see where you used it in the recipe. I think you just used the oxide pigment. Thank you

Great video....can I use distress oxide reinkers instead of the stains

Good question but no, they wont work,,, using them would be a complete waste as there isnt much in the bottles and it wouldnt work to use in or as a spray... there is a bit of a different chemical makup to the reinkers than to the sprays so dont waste your time with that. Get yourself some of the cheap suppplies i mention in this video.
