DIY Dollar Tree Wall Mirror Under $35 l Apartment Decor

Hey loves! So this video kinda blew up lol and I've been getting a lot of repeat questions so I wanted to post this for those who haven't seen my responses to others. These questions are: 1. Is it still up? Yes, it is. If wasn't I would've updated this video to let you all know to use something else but it's still going strong so I don't see why it wouldn't stay until I decide to take it down. 2. Why didn't I take off the frames? I wanted a decorative statement piece in my apartment so for me, this is the look I wanted. The mirrors I am using are from dollar tree, meaning they're cheap. Their production quality isn't the same for every mirror so, in theory, it would make sense to just get rid of the frame to have a big mirror, but in actuality, it will not look like one big seamless mirror. Maybe with more expensive ones, it would work but for the ones I had, it didn't look good. Feel free to try it yourselves though for those who just want a plain mirror. ALSO, for all the things I used please check the description box! I get a lot of questions about where I get things and I always put them there lol. Anyway, I hope that clears things up for you guys! Love love love it. That looks totally awesome and gives your entryway a very glam vibe. I noticed the plain builders grade light in front of the door that's screaming to be glammed up too. There's some REALLY good vids here on the TUBE made out of cardboard and you'd never know. I bet you have a lot, if not all of the things you need right now. TFS and hope you find the perfect lighting DIY to put the "frosting" so to speak, on that foyer.

I absolutely love this .. the only thing I'm worried about is it holding up given that I have a 4 year old and one on the way and I'm afraid my son might run across the the hall and it will fall... trying to think what I can use to make it more study... as my landlord wont let me put holes into the walls

I definitely understand that. Mine is still up but I'd suggest maybe testing a small patch and experiment with different techniques to see how that works before you go ahead and do the whole thing.

A monkey hook the holes are small and you can cover the holes up with plain old toothpaste

Double sided Gorilla tape is STRONG! That stuff holds ANYTHING! I just used it but before I did I put a piece on the wall and removed it later and there was NO damage to the wall whatsoever. Btw I also rent and I'm not allowed to put any holes in the walls either.

Just about to begin on this. Can it be easier to tape just 4 rows at a time onto the wall? It seems less heavy on the mounting tape. Also I also tend to drop thing from my hands a lot. Thanks for the diy.

You can do that if you want, I wanted to use as little mounting tape as possible so it'd be easy for me when I move so that's why I did it like this.

Yes you can if you want but it might not look as nice as you want since dt mirrors are cheap each mirror will be different so it wont be continuous

I had that dilemma too. I put some mirrors together as a test on the floor and I didn't like the way it looked. Since the mirror are so cheap, you can really tell the difference when a bunch of them are together and I didn't like that . Thats just me though. Thanks for watching!

I did a similar mirror situation without the frames. I only did 4x3 mirrors. The mirrors aren't all cut exactly the same so I had to make it work so while the outer edges of the whole thing are straight, there's a couple wonky seams. I made a wood bead frame (on a string so I don't have to glue too much) for the whole thing though. I think it's cute but idk about a whole wall like that

M Rose hey! Nope mine are still up and haven’t fallen or detached itself from the wall in any way. I know some people have used command strips and other things instead so I can’t speak on what methods others have used to mount it but what I did specifically worked well. One thing that is SUPER important is prepping the wall. Skipping over cleaning is probably the worst thing you can do when mounting something like this. I used the same product in an upcoming diy and forgot to do that step and it came off. So as long as you clean it, wipe it down with alcohol you should be fine! You take care as well 😊
