When I made my DIY water feature, I used a bit of black filter foam with an elastic around the pump to block the intake. Though i used gravel to build up so the birds could have a comfortable bottom to stand on so it wasnt too deep, it was a size that wouldn'tgunk up the intake. It's working very well. Ahhh, the 1st hammer of man, a rock! Lol idk how many times I've said "where's my hammer?!?!" when i was outside in the garden needing it to pound stakes in the ground or staples to hold string, eventually I just had a good rock i found in the rock pile and use that amd make sure it's in a spot I know where to find it. 😅 Well done, Matt, it's beautiful 🎉

@curvingfyre68103 ай бұрын
Look into hurricane lamps. Mushroom style ones specifically. It's a glass insert meant to sit over a candleholder, so you can have a candle lit in the wind. They're open at the bottom with a little chimney like structure, *and* the top with a normal vase like shape to let in fresh air for the candle, and the mushroom style ones have a big open space in the center. If you find one who's open bottom fits snugly inside a glass jar, you can start *stacking* containers, into a single enclosure. You can retain substrate by just cutting down plastic drinking cups and dropping them into the hole in the center. I've made paludariums this way before, with water in the bottom jar, and land in the hurricane lamp. It's a fun way to showcase both environments, cause each container will frame it's respective biome in a unique way.

I sorta agree. I almost want to draw you up an idea for a (automotive) hydraulic elevating cart that slides into a scaping workspace to make your life easier for your garage builds. Scape and transport from the same table, then you can set to the hight of the stand and push it on, making your life alot easier and you wont have to lift and break your back
@gemmacorinne94873 ай бұрын
I disagree, it’s more realistic to what most people have space wise to work with, especially for people doing smaller scapes etc like this one

Hahaha I've got plans for a stingray! The tree is doing well, it's not put much effort into leaves but has put tons of effort into the roots! I had to remove a load of roots from the filter pump the other day because they had grown through the cage.
