@@graham6229 Not a matter of needing to be modified. A matter of doing so and enjoying their own car.
@Rosso456MGT3 жыл бұрын
@@graham6229 they do. Because of their low volumes and limited number of cars over which to amortise engineering costs many Ferrari’s have weaknesses in their designs which only come to light as they get older. Don’t they test them first? Well yes they do but Ferrari’s can lead very bizarre lives and many don’t get used for weeks/months/years then used hard. Most tipo therefore start to get modified just like any other enthusiast brands but mostly by the drivers rather than the spend to pretend show pony types. You know picnic blanket and wicker basket sat on a lawn while the car does nothing. They are also the type who constantly harp on about valuezzzzzzzzzzzzzz

@@graham6229 Sure, why not? It's not like this is a concourse example we're talking about. May as well use the last 40 or so odd years of technology and data to make these perform better. Interesting to see what can be done with a platform like this so far removed from it's era of production.

I did a similar job on one of my Porsches over 25 years ago, and I recall it being the hardest job I ever did. I had no help, and was scared shitless of spring compressors so I had them assembled for me by a local shop. Still a major, days-long job. You’ve got mad wrenching skills.

I’ve a far simpler way to get rid of the welds! Just use a bi-metal hole saw that fits snugly over the outer diameter of the bush which will allow you just to cut the welds back nice and neatly. With minimal effort. Because that grinding looks a real ball ache 😣

Hi, being not a pro, I 'd like to give you an advice: please hang your axle with brake to the frame of the car with a rope or something like that! The transmissonshaft will like this more than hanging around and get a damage because of the overstretching angle. Greets from Bavaria!

@oliabid-price45173 жыл бұрын
Are you definitely sure those original rear Konis aren't adjustable? Usually with that era it is done by taking out the bumpstop buffer from inside the top cup, then collapsing the shaft fully into the body and engaging the internal adjusters, then make the required number of turns. As for fitting the stirrups over the new bushes, all you need is a G-clamp to squeeze the bushes up to get it started as you did.

The best of all the mms was the mk Vb with that engine and less weight it would climb like a home sick angel!! Is that Biggen hill aerodrome?

Yes, those bush sleeves were welded from the factory, and need to be re-welded afterwards. Lou Trottier has recently been doing the same on his 308 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWrRdZiXpKungMU) if anyone wants to watch that build too. If you use the standard 308 wheels you don't see too much of the calipers and they will get dirty fast. So you can paint them red or whatever and take the wheels off every time you clean the car or have them black and not worry.
